Beta 1.6 fixed my CTD's

I do complain a lot about Bethesda but I have to admit that since installing 1.6, my game is much more stable. I wasn't going to install the beta, but because I had suddenly been struck by a constant CTD that was crashing me about every 5 minutes, I had to try something. Installed the beta and haven't had a CTD since. Only problem was the game froze one time. This is after about a day and a half of play. So thumbs up there, and if you are having CTD issues and haven't installed the beta, might be worth a shot.

I'm still disappointed that the beta doesn't mention fixing the Civil War quest line as that quest line is about the most interesting, and it's a shame that when I tried to play through it a few weeks back it totally hosed up many of my other quests and caused game breaking bugs. Considering my CTD's appear to be fixed for now, the Civil War quests being fixed would of made this patch a smashing success for me.

I downloaded 1.6 and immediately got CTD as soon as the splashscreen showed. Tried everything I could thing on reloaded DX10 , DotNetFX, abd VCredist. rebooted and it still crashed. I went back to the old vbersion after about 6 attempts. think i'll wait awhile. Glad its working for some though.

It would be nice, indeed, if it did help prevent CTD. The few times that I've had a CTD have led me to rebooting (not restart) my pc, which isn't a good thing to do too often.

CTD = Crash To Desktop

As for details, instead of me trying to remember all that the Civil War quest line broke, I will just point you to this: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quest_Timing. That might help you avoid some issues and as far as the Civil War stuff, look at the very bottom where it says to avoid those quests like the plague.
