A beta would be pretty sweet, but I think we need a release date first

and yet another, good for nothing, topic...
i don't know why it would be usefull to know how many people want to have a beta or not.

anyways, i'd opt for "no" since a beta would slow the development progress down.
let them just work on the game instead of making it ready for people to play before it's ready.
like they said, they have friends and family who do the beta testing.

i don't see how a beta would slow the whole process down. If they release only one level that they have done as a beta, i think that would be fine. it's not like they have to go out of their way to make beta levels, just throw some in that they have already designed, possibly the ones from E3 or Quakecon

assume there's a beta, instead of the few people they have testing, there are suddenly hundreds,
where there was 1 report of a glitch, now there are 50reports of one glitch.
fixing the glitch and then checking all those other reports is gonna take more time than it would have to just fixing the glitch and ditching the report while saying "thank you"

beta yes but only because i can play it earlier :celebration:
Its about spring which begins march 21st, Crysis 2 release date has moved to 25th march in europe and 22nd i think for U.S.
so they shot themselves in the knee to circumvent the release date of the other blockbuster games in november. :toughninja:

This. We only need one open topic per topic. :)
Let's use the one linked above for this discussion.
