I sometimes call people hon, I don't mean it in any other way than it just being a sweet word, its like saying "dude" to me, if you dont like it or find it offensive I will try not to see it when I see bacon ok?
More Xbox 360 circle jerking by beth? Color me surprised.
:/
Well, a beta test isn't just about finding bugs, there's also scope for reporting on balance. But I think a system where you can at least show that you're testing for issues would be best. ie: A reporting system perhaps where you make a log of what you did? Stuff like doing quests at different intervals, visiting locations in different orders and from different directions or even just running around any new areas just to see if anything pops up.
Ah didn't know that and yes I think that would be best

Since I have Skyrim on PC, this doesn't really matter to me. With that said, having been through many betas, it's nice to see a company actually giving people something for helping them test their product. Bioware barely even listened to bug reports or feedback and couldn't even say "thank you". Some companies show class, others treat their customers like garbage. Amazing how far a simple "thank you" goes, but Bethesda is awesome for doing this for you guys.

I think it's perfectly reasonable that they get it for free and fair play as well.

:/

Im afraid most people [Not all!] are just ignorant to other gamers nowadays it's sad, anyways i think playing a buggy version to test it if bethesda doesn't have any time to is good enough its not like their paying people a $1000.00 to test it.

I think the level of moaning about pretty much anything that the devs do in relation to current games makes me despair about the future. What do I tihnk about people getting the game (beta version) for free? I honestly don't care. I don't fee personally aggrieved because some kid in Alaska didn't have to pay what I've paid. I don't write to the companies who give celebrities free products demanding my own.

Back in my day we didn't have no vidya games. We played baseball with a stick and a rock and walked uphill both ways in the snow to get a ice cream samich from the ice cream truck that wasn't a truck because even the ice cream man was poor so he walked around with a napsack with cold treats.

I think it's only logical a beta tester get in for free. Although I would pay for it all the same.

From what I've read the dlc seems to be a fair amount of content for £10. Plus it seems as though the re-play value will be quite good, I think most people would think this expansion is well worth a tenner and if some people get it for free I'd be a tad envious definitely but I wouldn't be put out that I (and everyone else) had to spend ten pounds to play it.

I just want early access. I also wouldn't mind providing feedbacks to help out the Skyrim community so this beta is for me.

Have you guys never done a beta before?

Standard practice, you are beta testing their game so in a way you ARE paying for it. You are providing a service to bethesda they would have payed for otherwise.

This is why open betas are popular. People get free games, companies get feedback. Thats how it works.

I was a beta tester for halo reach (not the multiplayer beta, real beta) and I got a free copy of the game in return... This is how it works.

This. It's a "You scratch my back I scratch your back." thing. And while we may not have as many beta testers, the ones picked have some real incentive. If I get picked I know I will be having fun with it. I think I have around 20+ characters most at around 40. A few at level cap so I know I'm ready to tear every inch of this dlc apart! And if I do loose characters in the process no sweat. I got my methods of getting to where I need to be in short amounts of time. And it just means I found something for Bethsda to fix and earn that reward! Why pay someone who may half ass it when you can get free beta testers who exist to break the game down!?

Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
