Bethesda, what have you done to my dear Skooma?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:51 pm

Just a quick question Bethesda, what did you do to my skooma?

For some reason, when I drink it, it restores my stamina and nothing else. It doesn't lower my stamina regen, doesn't make me vulnerable to spells, nothing.

I am used to Oblivion style Skooma. I would chug 3-4 bottles of the sweet stuff and then for 20 seconds, I could run faster than most horses in Cyrodiil. After the effects wore off, I would also have the I.Q. of a horse as well.

I miss my old Skooma. This "new" skooma makes me sad. No new experiences. No mind altering blurred vision, no exaggerated skill steroids, no erratic behavior, no addiction or withdrawals.

Who decided that this watered down stuff would be acceptable? How am I going to roleplay a Skooma addict when the stuff isn't addictive or even unhealthy to ingest.

The way you guys changed it, it almost seems like Skooma should be accepted in society. I mean it is healthier to ingest than alchohol.

I just want to know why you did this. I know mods will come out that will correct it, but comeon, what was the thinking behind it?

Hardly worth smuggling. Those caravans are wasting their time.

Might as well be smuggling sweet rolls or something.

None of this ever happened in the first place.

Exactly, but why did the game take a step backwards with what is supposed to be a powerful illegal drug?

I was indeed kind of sad with the Skooma too. I never played Oblivion, but still, all NPCs act all mysterious about Skooma - how addicting and hard to get it is, Khajiit caravans smuggling the stuff... But indeed, it's nothing more than a stamina potion.

Narcotics in SI were even an improvement over Skooma.

Don't know if you guys knew this, but Greenmote actually gave you blurry vision!

Now why didn't they implement this in Skyrim? WHY?!

What mod moved this to the spoiler section?

This item might as well be common trash now, it's in no way a spoiler.

Because it may be addictive, but it's by no means powerful, like real world drugs. Being able to run at 10000 miles an hour isn't something they really planned.

It pisses me off so much. I played a traveling drug smuggler in Oblivion. Can't do that near as well in Skyrim..

Are you sure you've tried sleeping tree sap? It gives blurry vision and a purple tint.

Maybe narcotics were deemed too 'naughty' for this game? Remember kids, strip your victims after brutally decapitating them, but dont you ever ever touch drugs now, kay?
