BEWARE the mighty Butterfly!

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:50 am

Of all the denizens I've run into I never would have thought I'd be killed by a butterfly! I was standing on a ledge getting a primo panoramic picture for my desktop when all of a sudden my character goes plummeting off a cliff because a freakin' butterfly slammed into his back while trying to land. So mighty are these butterflies of Skyrim that no fireball, ice storm or lightning bolt can harm them, neither sword nor mace or bash of a shield affects them, truly they are the master race of Skyrim. *echoes of maniacal giggling*

This is one of those "things" about Skyrim that's silly and fun for me all at the same time! :tes:

This moment of madness brought to you by Bram, cheers all and keep an eye near the ground for those pesky flutter byes!

You do realize you can kill them right? I shoot them out of the sky all the time.

I've nearly bought it a couple of times chasing them off cliffs. I can just see the epitaph now: Dovakiin saved the world from Alduin. Died chasing a butterfly....

OTOH, a friend of mine says he thinks his Khajit character just likes chasing them for fun.

Aye, I know you can shoot them out of the air, but my Mage is only going to hit his own foot if he tries to use a bow....

To borrow Muggy:

"The butterfly. Beware the butterfly! If it could, it would push the whole world off a cliff!" :hehe:

I fear the butterflies and moths, i use the blue butterflys and moths in potions... LOTs of them. One day... they are all going to amass and push me off a cliff.

I've also had them mess up some attacks. Going to do a sneak-roll-strike and hit a lightning bug during the roll, then the bad guy turns around and he can't miss you because you have a lightning bug on your nose.

Butterflies? Please, that's child's play.

Try tripping over a cabbage. Instant death. Those things are dangerous. :whistling:

I've been pushed around plenty by followers, but have yet to see death by butterfly.

Usually, I'm chasing after butterflies for use in alchemy. They can't push my Nord off of cliffs with no wings.

So far I've heard of killer chickens, killer cabages, and now killer butterflies.

Skyrim is certainly a dangerous place.

I just grab the butterfly. Funny, never been killed, moved or pushed by one yet. I also killed a chicken- Nothing happened.

Tripping over cabbages? Yea right.

It`s just dawned on me this could be a 1st person, 3rd person thing. Maybe in 1st person you technically don`t have a body so maybe in that mode I don`t get affected?

Killer Butterflies.
Well, you are an insignificant little puny human that can smite mighty Dragons. Karma had to kick in at some point.

neither me but i think tripping over cabbage is just when you run into something and it does like 1 dmg to you i guess if you're low on health you can die but it only happens with rib cages for me

Ever heard of the Butterfly Effect?

A butterfly in France can cause an orcano in India, just by batching it's wings... It's true! Leading sciencetists worldwide claims that! :grad:

Butterflies sure rule supreme.
