BGS should've partnered with 2K

This is why. Guy basically shows off a "HD 2K Texture Mod" and there is SUCH a huge difference entirely. From grass, to stairs.. to just everything! It actually makes the game more vibrant, colorful AND noticeable! Like the gfx style of Oblivion...

I guess they just took matters into their own hands and made textures by themselves. I just think that if they would've partnered with 2K GRAPHICALLY the game would've prolly been perfect.

What're your thoughts?

...that's not what they mean by "2K". It's a reference to texture resolution.

So, based on that video. Why should they partner with 2K?

Then 2k refers to the texture resolution... Not the company. The textures were made by one person, but PLEASE don't you dare say anything like "Bethesda should hire him" or whatnot. Bethesda artists are more then capable of making photo realistic graphics and super detailed models, but they don't because they have performance to deal with across many PCs as well as the consoles. Modders are free to do what they want because people only download the mod if their computer can run it. Bethesda doesn't have that freedom to do such things.

Frankly the 2k texture mod in there didn't look so great to me. Too bright for me. Did really like the water and smoke mods though.

Well sorry IDK PC mod lingo.. my bad. I just saw 2K and that's the 1st thing that popped into my mind. MY BAD! -.-

And it's not just that... I love Skyrim's gfx don't get me wrong.. but I loved how vibrant and more colorful Oblivion was compared to it.

I already know about hiring modders, etc. I wasn't even going to say that... but it's just pathetic! These game companies/corps don't want us to Mod but we make the game BETTER then what it was... and make it more enjoyable?

Honestly I don't understand the HUGE strain it would put on them to allow console players to mod like PCs? 360 and PS3 are essentially PC towers...

360, made by Microsoft.. has a motherboard, etc. like a PC
PS3, hell when you turn the damn thing on "SONY Computer Entertainment System"...

Call me a troll, whatever.. I have close to* 700 posts.. if I was a troll would I still BE HERE?

People..

You are aware that the CK comes out soon right? And that Bethesda even took the time to write a wiki and make videos for it?

And please, don't start the whole "mods on console" thing again.

EDIT: I copied what I feel is a pretty good summarize on why mods on consoles won't happen. And no, a PC and a console isn't the same thing.

Not because companies like Bethesda are against it but because Microsoft and Sony have very little to gain from it. Console players wouldn't want to pay for mods the PC gamers get for free and besides, why would MS or Sony make money off of other peoples hard work. So basically they would do it for free. Not to mention the work they would have to do to design a console that is able to handle you downloading, installing and uninstalling mods that in various degrees change the game and not have it break every time you do so.

No they are not thats like saying PS1 and nintendo are computer towers only 64-bit and 32-bit versions. Consoles are not meant for file tampering which is essentially what a mod is

Consoles are seriously lacking in RAM. The average PC playing Skyrim will have somewhere between 2 and 8 GB plus 512 - 2048 GB for the video card. A 360 has 512 MB of RAM and an 10 MB added to the GPU. A 2K texture mod would turn the game to a slideshow. Yes, PCs have tons of overhead due to running lots of other software while Skyrim runs, but any PC that runs well with a huge texture pack has memory to spare. The ones that don't also slow to a crawl with mods like that.
