A bit more light shed on multiplyer choices, etc...

Pretty much says what i was thinking..
Rage as a game doesnt really fit with the deathmatch multiplayer game-style.
Split Screen co-op.

Some other stuff about the AI and the like.
Cheers

Oh my. It's pitiful. Aimed directly at your average gamer for money.

A rally game with guns. It'll be so fun, I have to go puke. Urghh.

No it's single player COD with cars.

Will I be able to turn off autoaim? Will it challenge anyone at all?

Oh well.

invalid points.

if it were just put out to appeal to the LCD masses and just sell copies, they would have included a deathmatch multiplayer mode, like every other fanchise is doing.
They chose, instead to have the actual game be the focus..

The "cars" part isnt essential. Look at some of the other interviews with Tim Wilits, like the G4TV E3 coverage, where he mentions that the story is prdominately on foot, the information in that interview has been out for some time, look into it.

In the very same interview that i posted in this thread, he mentions that auto-aim is adjustable, depending upon player skill.

for the love of god, do at least a bit of reseach before hitting reply.

I watched the video. Auto aim I want none of, not just adjusted to my level of play. He said in every instance whether to go realistic or fun they took fun every time. Easy jollies for the kiddies. I kinda hate those kinds of games.

Ya fun games.. man those are the worst.. i get to playing a game sometimes and im like "this game is too fun, i am not going to play it anymore"
if you want realistic racing pick up gran turismo.

twll me what was so realistic about woldenstien doom or quake,.
was it when you pick up a blue orb and start kicking ass? the rail guns? i know it was the space marines fighting demons on mars, wasnt it?

as for the auto aim. deal with it. all games have easy modes.. you dont have to play at those levels.

So...when you're playing a realistic game you aren't having fun? I'm glad that they tried going for "fun" instead of realism.

I play games where if you stick your head out at the wrong time, in the dead of night, pitch black, some fool 3 blocks away will put a bullet in it. Boom. Perfectly reasonable, a high level character with a sniper rifle and night vision should be able to do that. I can do it to him if he is foolish enough to fill my sights.

Run and gun is instant death.

Most people just quit and rail against the aim bots with x-ray vision. LOL. It's immense fun for me and I often spend 10+ hour sessions in the games I love.

Sometimes I relax playing Fallout 3 and NV on very hard, hardcoe if available. Such a gentle environment, but it's meant to be fun. ;)

I can see where you are coming from but you have yo look at the editor that they are shipping with PC.. I dont think its unreasonable to assume that the modding community wont take long to put some good stuff out.

As for the game its self.. its huge as is. i am looking forward to the innovative aspects like 60hz on a console. mega texture. smart unique AI. all the same kinds of crazy guns that come with any Id game...

I used to play HL at lan parties.. people would have mods with ridiculous levels and powerful weaponry. heavy frags in those games... but it was all modded...

I am hoping the community will make it great. Stalker to a great extent is community driven.

Back in the day there were rich maps and mods for Doom and Doom2, I have over 1000 wads. There were again great maps, some mods for Quake and Quake 2 as well. Quake 3 I played a lot and there are all kinds on multiplayer maps and add-ons for it. Quake 4 was kinda rail like and I'm not aware of many mods for it although I have played some very good Doom 3 mods with maps.

If Rage is open enough some great things could be built on that undoubtedly fine engine. Here's hoping.

Like i am saying, they are including a game editor. so youll essentially be able to build anything you want.

this is why i dont think people should trip.
Id wqants to do most of their focusing on a good singple payer game.

multiplayer car racing, co-ops, mods and the like are icing that people can take or leave..
With all of these elements, there is something for everyone.
