in the video for the game there was that guy weaing a gas mask type hing and a trench coat and theres the statue of the ncr ranger and the nevada ranger alliance, i was wondering is it possible to actually get the armor that they have, the trench cat and riot gear armor

yes you can. comes at a high price usually your NCR rep drops alot because you need kill them to get it.

I have only seen Brown "NCR Ranger Combat Armor", is there actually a black coat? or is that just "lighting"?

Plus, you CAN score a coat without reputation loss. I just hid in the hills 300 yrds outside Station Delta and Picked off a Ranger Vet w/ a Silenced Sniper rifle. I killed 2 and never got a reputation change. The important thing is that you are FAR away and no one else is around your target. On a different game I did this and upon the 3rd friendly ncr troop killed in this manner, my reputation turned to Dark Hero. I dunno, as long as they can still be friends w/ me =).

I hear you can also stealth-boy sneak up to a ranger vet and reverse pickpocket some C4 onto his person. get some range and blow him sky high. A friend said this worked for him, I have yet to try it.

--Also, I am still Idolized w/ NCR in the game where I killed 2 rangers. The other game I sided with house anyways, so NCR rep was secondary.

Yes, after a certain quest those Veteran Rangers spawn at camps and posts. If you take one out with a silenced sniper rifle without anyone seeing or hearing then you will not get a karma or faction loss.

I did it at Camp Golf.
