Blackreach deeper mine?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:08 am

So for the lost to the ages quest Katra's journal say's something about a deeper mine thats a primary source of Aetherium and was thinking it probably has something to do with blackreach and maybe something new there or maybe not added yet and will be in another dlc.

in Raldbthar Deep Market there is a machine the you can put an attunement sphere into which will reveal a staircase to blackreach. Which is what I took as the meaning of the journal entry your speaking of. I could be wrong but it makes sense.

Actually those "stairs" are in many ruins as there are multiple entrances to Blackreach but then again...who knows

I think that all that blue crystal is aetherium. So blackreach is kind of a mine, the problem is- there is no known way to manipulate it.

That's what I was thinking.

Yes and it can't be mined.

I was kinda hoping maybe we'd find more Aetherium in Geode Veins. Then I can have that staff AND circlet...

On a side note, I've found 3 entrances to Blackreach. I hope they add more DLC regarding Blackreach and the disappearance of the Dwemer. Ever since Morrowind I've wanted to know more.

Try reading a ingame book called Falmer: A Study, this book says there are even deeper tunnels in Blackreach.
This book also hints at a future Falmar invasion of Skyrim.

a link to the wiki page on the book is below

I am curious about this. Next time I play on my main, I'll go back to Blackreach and see what I can find.

That knowledge disappeared with the Dwemer.

Take note most of the areas involved in that quest were Vanilla Dungeons. I don't think they added any more entrances. Although, I personally want a DLC Dwemer Excavation via the collapsed dwemer tunnel in Tovalds Cave.

What I think they might do is give you what you need to make one of the artifacts in each major expansion. I think the dwemer might
end up waiting until TES 6, just because they need unanswered questions to base new games off. They would have to introduce new
mysteries.

A DLC that lets you interact with your old oblivion characters save and inventory would be awesome. For example revisit the shivering
isles, and after a long questline find everything in your oblivion characters current inventory in a chest. I dont think it would be cheating
unless you cheated in oblivion. Something like this. Although it may be easy to exploit and wind up dual wielding Mehrune's Razor.

When I first entered blackreach I crapped my pants. I was thinking huge underground landmass with a massive inhabited underground city. I was so disappointed when I found out that it was significantly smaller then I first had assumed :(

So please Bethesa. Give us your take on a 'Tamriel Underdark' and blow d&d out of the water. (I like d&d though ;) )

I suppose that would make the staff, shield and circlet less valuable
(sigh)

Yeah, that tunnel offers a good entrance to a Dwemer "Lost World". I was thinking the same thing about the Pass that leads to Morrowind. Maybe a visit to Mournhold is in order?

Haha yeah I felt the same way. Big, deep, dark underworld and all I got was some Crimson Nirnroot and a dragon.

Really more than anything I want an expansion similar to Old World Blues in New Vegas. An independent landscape possibly dealing with an outside faction hell-bent on taking over Tamriel. Throw in some warp-able player housing (through a spell, power or item) that you can upgrade.
