My computer died about 4 weeks ago. A new power supply later, it worked just fine.

If it's not doing anything at all when you press the power button, it's probably just the power supply. Power supplies aren't too expensive, just be sure to get one with similar specs to the one you had before; I recommend checking Newegg.

Better than $400+ on the low end for a new computer.

Have you opened up the case and made sure all the cables are pushed in correctly? Most of the time when a computer won't turn on thats the issue, a power or data cable is loose. I mean thats the tip of the iceberg, training as an IT guy i know theres a ton of things that could be wrong with your computer but unless I'm there I can't properly diagnose it.

Is this the one that they gave you when you asked them to repair your old POS computer? Because if so, the one they gave you was probably running on it's last legs anyway.

That could be the power lead for the LED inside your power button, have a look at your motherborard manual, find out where it goes and plug it back in and try to turn your PC on.

If you know what the board is just google it I'm sure its on the net somewhere. Google has always been a great tool in finding tech specs and manuals for stuff for me.
