A blind deathclaw companion?

Post » Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:52 pm

In the next game maybe? Some oldguy rescues one deathclaw egg before some guy wipes them all out and when it hatches its blind and abnormally small so he takes care of him as it was his own child but he is getting to old to find food for the now in between baby and advlt sized (but matured) deathclaw and wants you to take care of him and with a strength of 6-7 or survival of 50 you can convince him you could take care of it and he becomes your companion. It would be a human companion, its ranged is it grabs rubble and throws it, and for criticals it grabs a big chunk of rubble and hurls it at an opponent. Good idea? bad idea? I ddint want it to be a normal deathclaw as it would be a bit OP and it would be stupid if it was under powered.

you mean http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Goris from FO2? or something like him?

in short: No thank you

the very idea of intelligent (semi or fully sentient) deathclaws in FO2 made me cringe and was one of the biggest reasons I couldn't stand that game. Intelligent or not, deathclaws are enemies, not my friends

I guess? I never played FO2 or FO1 so I never knew about him, except the deathclaw wouldn't be very intelligent, its INT stat would be 1 or 2

I've actually always wanted a friendly Deathclaw companion, its my second wish after an eyebot companion (which happily got fufilled).

I have no idea how it would work lore-wise (maybe something to do with Enclave deathclaw control devices), but it would be awesome.

I'd be all for it, having a deathclaw follow you around would be pretty sweet.

Well if we go MW we may get that because of http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hairy_deathclaw

Go on up to Primm pass. There's a blind one there ... he will follow you ... for a while. The "Blind" part is a joke.

Pro tip: It's amazing how fast you can run down a hill.

Yes. I think there's a mod for it as well.

Someone's been playing a little too much Left 4 Dead! hahahaha
Other than that little part I like the idea of another Deathclaw companion. But Deathclaws don't need a ranged attack at all, they deal the best death with their claws, it's kind of in their name.

This ^

In Fallout Tactics you can have deathclaws in your squad :mohawk:

They are a different sub species of deathclaws or the locals call them deathclaws and they are a different species entirely but they can be on your team and they arn't that smart.

Having ones as a companion in a future game would be fine. Raising it from a young deathclaw to advlt I am against.

Edit: I am not going to get dragged into a debate about canon here so don't bother.
