Blue Light Bug Conquered!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:12 am

:cthulhu: I finally did it! I watched the walkthrough on YouTube at http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=OrddtGDC6hc and took note of the three areas the deck gun was set at when the mages were hit. I imitated them and got through the bug! The vision of a deep one in the hold came up and I get to continue on Mythos Specialist!!! I also saved it at that point so I can send anyone who wants a copy of the data file.Yeah-hoo!!!!I hope this will help others to get through too! Tell everyone!Best wishes, All!!!

Congratulations! I'dve never thought of no-scoping those enemies ;)

The video is really blurry (or it could just be my eyes). Any chance you could jot down exactly what position your cannon was in (on the side and top bars) to help me out? I've been trying to do it without scoping based on what I can just about see in the video and I've had no luck. Does Henson say anything or is there any kind of visible or audible signal for when you actually hit one of the enemies?

Mine jump around like they are on speed too, I get the feeling that's part of the bug since unplugging my mouse and using the laptop touchpad did nothing to remedy the situation. Taking my girlfriend to the airport later, but when I get back I'll give it a damn good go using your guide. Thanks!

I must speak with the admins about pinning a save-thread.Sorry for all the delay, I'm in Queensland at the moment with no copy of DCOTE to use. I will have them emailed as soon as I return home, promise! I've been so lazy these past few months (or rather, busy with other work).

I have conquered the blue light bug;By using XP again!Screen on my laptop is broken, so I've moved to my spare machine and installed XP on it and the game works perfectly. I like Vista, but its incompatibility with some games drives me up the bloody wall. The only issue I have with it now is that it chugs a little on any resolution above 800 x 600, but I suspect that's down to the fairly aged Geforce 7300 LE 512mb this thing is running. But since I'm upgrading soon, shouldn't be a problem. So, the best advice I can offer to any one encountering any major glitches like this one in DCOTE is to get your hands on a copy of XP and install it on a seperate HD partition. Easy, quick and works a treat (game performance will increase overall too because of XP's lower overall system usage). For reference, I am now running;Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz2GB PC5300 DDR2 RAMNVIDIA GEFORCE 7300 LE 512MBWindows XP SP2So, it's pretty clear it's just Vista and not the dual core set up of the machines.

I need a saved game after conquering the blue light bug. I can never get it right at different resolutions and I hear other people have the same problem. Also, I don't have access to a PC with XP on it anymore. Can someone send me a saved game file right after the blue light bug at mholdsworth2@gmail.com. Much appreciated. I hate Vista.

I tried this method but got nowhere. Is there another way to complete this part of the game? Can someone provide a game save past this point? I am dying to beat this game!

if I too could get a save right after the blue lights on the reef (but before Dagon if at all possible) I have tried the no-scoping method but it's too much of a hassleHere's the specs, if the save data could be mailed to me with an explination of how to apply it to the game I'd very much appreciate itDifficulty: Boy ScoutInventory: All possible items up to this point (including journal stuff)My E-Mail: golemssoul@cableone.netThanks to you who answers my pleaI'a Cthulhu! :cthulhu:

Ya, I am aware of this. But this really doesnt matter. All that happens that you switch teams and you respawn. It only happens for one round. I dont think it is much of a problem. Has it escalated to become a threat? _______=== http://www.botmasternet.com RULEZ! ===

Savegame file fix for glitch. This issue is also covered on the Steam users forum http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=902001. I repeat my reply here. The glitch in chapter 7, "A Dangerous Voyage", on the boat, trying to shoot at the mages on the island with the cannon, has been affecting PC gamers from the original release. I too am p*ssed that Bethesda/Steam released this game again without addressing the problem. However, there is a workaround. You can load a savegame file from just after that part of the level has been completed. I have uploaded a copy of the savefile and instructions here:http://drop.io/CallOfCthulhuSavefileThe only problem is, this is a savefile from someone else's game (not mine). It means you can't carry over your progress statistics from before that point (hit accuracy, etc). But you can at least continue the story and finish the game.
