Body disposal

Post » Thu Aug 04, 2011 10:17 am

What do you guys want done with your body after you die? I've recently been thinking about being composted, cause I like the idea of death turning into new life and all that, I just hope it's more... acceptable in the US by the time I buy the farm.

I wouldn't care what they did, since I'd be dead anyways.

After reading "Stiff" by Mary Roach I definitely would like my body to be given to science. I'd never considered it before, but the way I'm going I'd probably be more useful dead than alive. :)

Either toss me in the ocean as fish food or use me to make a new Terminator built for the purpose of sabotage!

There was something along those lines in the series "Six Feet Under" when they proposed to people "ecological burial" where the body is placed in a simple perishable cloth, no chemicals... Neat. Hope it is true. Closer to your compostable burial.

If money was no object, then: cremated and then my ashes turned in to a diamond. Just 'cause that sounds so cool!

But, uh, realistically? I dunno, isn't there some sort of eco-burial thing where my body can go decompose happily and turn into nutrients for a tree or something?

I don't want to get buried in the ground in a coffin, that seems like a waste of space, you know?

But, however the body is disposed of, they better be damn sure I'm actually dead. There are enough stories, even in modern times, of people pronounced dead actually not being dead and waking up during their funeral or a morgue and stuff.

I want them to take my dead body, and bring it back to life.

I'd like for someone to encase my body in solid gold, encrusted with only the finest jewels and set atop a throne carved from one massive diamond pulled from the depths of space.

I want to be gutted and stuffed along with motion sensors inserted where my eyes are, that, when set off will trigger a random audio track to play. I then would like to be put on a rocking chair in front of a house somewhere.

Cremated, than my ashes compressed into a diamond, than the diamond launched into space.

Therefore truly being among the stars.

This is all hypothetical though cause I cant die.

I'm sure I've heard of a sea burial where the coffin is made of a substance which facilitates the growth of coral - that would be pretty cool and eco-friendly I'd think.

Okay, so get your family to toss you into a hole. Don't see how that's not so accepted in the US. You want it that way, it's your funeral

As for me, I want my head cut off and thrown into the hole put into a jar and willed to the youngest grandson I have, while the rest of me is either used for science and/or a scarecrow. I do NOT want to be a zombie, but I also want to be an ass one last time :P

Well there's no promatoriums in the U.S. I'd rather be properly composted, as opposed to just being buried with no chemicals.

Die? What are you talking about, Talos has granted me immortality......

BUT if by some strange event I did die, I want a coffin, and some dirt. You dig up the dirt, put me in the coffin, put the coffin in the dirt, and then fire a few rounds out of some M1s, about 21 of them. 21 M1s, not 21 rounds, you only fire three rounds. Oh, and be sure to bring flowers, I want to smell nicer than all the other dead people! And I might like a preacher too, preachers are good at making people happy......also, when you bury me, release a dove that way people will be distracted if you accidentally drop my coffin or someting.

I'm pretty simple. Just toss my rotting carcass in a pine box, throw it in the ground and cover me with dirt. That's all I need... nothing fancy.

I want to be an extra in a hollywood movie where they show a scene off a bunch of dead bodies but mine would be an actual dead bodie.
