Boethiah's Calling: Pillar of sacrifice : V

I started the quest Boethiah's Calling. None of the companions i brought to use the pillar of sacrfice would use it when i tell them to. I have tried Aela, Sven, and Lydia and have had no luck. I have read that people have used Lydia for the sacrifice so I belive I just ran into a bug that will not let me progress in the quest

I've literally just completed this mission...

I took Lydia there yesterday, all worked fine for me. But then I had to reload a save and use some random hired-hand (from the inn at Windhelm, iirc) as I was sad that Lydia was dead
