I am a die hard elder scrolls fan, been playing for years, got hundreds of hours on Oblivion, and close to 150 hours on Skyrim (so far). I thought the lag problems were specifically because of my PS3, but it seems the problem is far more widespread (my save file is approx. 14mb now, and the lag ANYWHERE, but especially in busy areas (e.g. Markarth or during a fight etc.) is unbelievable after just an hours play. Please fix it Bethesda, the game is brilliant. My friends who play on the 360 seems to have no such trouble.

My specific problem is with the quest for Boethiah. After I trap a follower on the Pillar and kill them, once the body is possessed it doesn't start a conversation with me. Just keeps on say "Flesh is so distasteful", but while I'm still walking around I.e. Not in a 1on1 conversation with her.
Anyone else had this problem?

P.S. Level 55 Khajiit 149 hours gameplay, 14.5mb file size.

I haven't started yet but I just killed one the Boethiah's followers that had the book to start the quest, but I'll try it out now to see whats up.

Ok thank you. It's strange I literally watched my friend do it 2 hours ago and he has a ps3 too. It's crazily annoying.

I just did this quest today. I'm not sure if this is required, but did you kill the follower with that blade of sacrifice you were given?

Yes I did - I even looked in my friends guide book it says the weapon used is irrelevant. I've no idea what the problem is just another bug I suppose!

Ughh this is gonna take some time sorry my game just froze right when I found the companion to get sacrificed.

Okay I just did it and right after I slew my follower she automatically talked to me so it must be a bug in your game you'll probably have to try and load a previous save if you have one.

Try this from the wiki:

• Sometimes after killing the follower on the pillar, Boethiah's conduit will not start the dialogue with the player, making the quest impossible to continue. To fix this, just kill all of her worshippers. Then she will leave your companions body and go to the last worshipper you killed. Then you can actually talk to Boethiah's reincarnation and continue the quest as usual. If the dead worshipper she repossessed still does not engage in dialogue with you, and give you the next quest update, reload, kill all the worshippers, and THEN take your follower up to the pillar and have them touch it. Even though she has already possessed a dead worshipper, this will kick-start the quest, and will result in a double quest update stating you've sacrificed a follower (will display one after the other). (Xbox/PS3/PC confirmed).
  
• If you proceed to do the above suggestion, and Boethiah asks you to make another sacrifice to her with a thrall, the sacrifice will not work, rendering the quest incompletable.

I have a problem with this quest as well. Somehow I managed to get to the point where I am supposed to kill all those people silently, which I did, but she won't talk to me again. I looked at the quest list and somehow I got that far without completing the 2nd thing. Find the followers camp, or something like that. Very starange for a quest to continue if you dont do a step. I waited a long time, and the people at the cave regenerated themselves, so I killed them again, but the quest stops right there.

Kill all the Boethian followers at the shrine, then the last one you killed will rise taking on Boethias form and speak to you.

Um when you kill the people loot the ebony armor off her last champion and equip it i think. I've had a quest that did the same thing yours did to where I didn't complete a step. But after the last required step the quest finished even though a step didn't update on my journal. I'm thinking you just need to loot the ebony armor and equip it when you kill the boss. She suppose to talk to you after that if she already did everything else.

DgkCrew is right, you need to equip the Ebony Mail and the quest should complete as long as all the camp occupants are dead, I found one asleep in a tent when I came out.

Where did you find a thrall? I been looking and taking people up there but none give me the option to touch the altar. So where do I find the thrall?

Certain npcs you cant sacrifice ... i tried with mjoll and it didnt let me ... so i went to whiterun and sacrificed that woman in the bar that i brawled with ... shes wearing steel plate armor ... you could try her if anything

I just tired her and there is no command for her to tough the altar. So I dont know what to do now.

I think you get them close and then activate the altar itself. It's been a long time since I did it so I might be wrong

You have to talk to your companion, then select " I need you to do something", or whatever it says, to have them do something. Then you will have a cursor on the screen, put it on the pillar and press the "X" button. The follower will go over, activate it and get stuck on it. Also you don't need to use the blade of sacrifice. I used my Daedric war axe and it worked just fine.

Apparently you can just kill all the worshipers at the shrine and continue the quest without even sacrificing your follower from what I read. Haven't tried it yet myself since I just used lydia as my sacrifice.

Yeah I finally figured it out. You can use any weapon to kill the follower as well. Thanks for the help.
