I was doing the dragon bounty quest for Ulfric's steward, or whatever he is, where you kill the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest. But it turned out that I had already killed the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest in my random journeys, and cannot collect the bounty/move on with the "questline"

Any help?

Dragons usually respawn in those places so there might be one there later.

That said, those radiant quests are glitchy because I had one to kill a bandit leader in a camp I had cleared earlier as part of the thieves guild line, which had a proper named Leader. When I got there all the bandits had respawned but there was no leader and the quest marker was pointing at a chair. In the end it just became another glitched quest in my misc log.

That's what I figured. I have had other dragons respawn at the burial sites. I waited there for 2 (in-game) days and nothing happened. I'll try waiting longer or chalk it up to glitchy-ness.

anybody know if it's required to complete this bounty for the "Blood on the Ice" quest to trigger?

You cant stand around in a zone and expect it to respawn around you, it doesnt work that way. Leave the area for about a month in game and it will be respawned. Gaurds will even tell you when its respawned with convo's like "I saw a dragon head in X direction over the town and headed for Y".

I've heard people state respawning takes as much as 30 game-days in some cases. Don′t think this quest is required for Blood on the Ice though. Not sure.

I'm pretty sure that it has been 30 game days since I killed it.

I remember killing it and having to wait there for 3-4 hours before it showed up and attacked. Though it would be the same, so thats why I waited there
