boone's rifle? : Fallout: New Vegas

ok, so a few hours ago, i left 'the tops' " casino after meeting up with benny, and an hour or so later, i realize boon lost his rifle.
i look in my inventory, and there it is!
after that, i try to give it back, and i cant...
help?

yea..i know that'll work..but i dont wanna constantly feed him ammo. (ammo which, half the time i dont have)

i think the glitch happens when you give something to Boone... i gave him a Stimpack and he lost his gun....

I tried letting Boone go as a follower and picking him up again in town, but he still had the same equipment I left him with.

i have same issue. are you able to equip it on yours.(to yourself) i can but ther is no ammo that works for it. it says MCA where ammo is supposed to be

This happens for me often, all you have to do is go into his command center thing and turn him to Melee then Ranged and it should come back. At least it does for me.

Do you mean that his gun leaves your inventory and appears in his hands?

I think I tried that, no luck.

UPDATE: I tested and confirmed that when I made Boone wait outside the casino and went in by myself, when I came back out his rifle was in my inventory. Strangely, the Machete I gave him was still on his hip, so it appears to have something specifically to do with his rifle being bugged.
