Nope I disagree. Avoid playing warrior is what I do. Playing a warrior is so dull for me. I have not played a warrior one single time in skyrim. Being a mage is where the fun begins though. Nothing's more fun then resurrecting bodies, summoning atronachs, and calming your opponents down. Then putting a nice big ice spike in between their eyes. You can't tell me THAT is boring

I would offer you a fishy stick but you're either trolling or new to gaming itself. I am half suspecting though you are around 12 years old who plays MW3 most of the time and bought this game cause you heard it was good.

Okay. I know you just ignored my post, and continue doing so, because I didn't know if you were just making fun of Morrowind fans who suggest crossbows. I apologize for the post. I also don't like using emoticons, so uh... Here's the honesty one. :U

Yep give me one shed of proof you actually played oblivion. and also there is no reason to get worked up over my liking of borderlands, which had nothing to do with this conversation anyway. Albeit so did my remark about MW3(so i apologise) but it is probably true though

Skyrim's not supposed to have a super-interesting combat system, but a super-realistic one. And honestly, as far as realism in any game that I've played goes, this game's combat system's the most realistic, so they've achieved their goal quite well.

I can't think of a game where the combat didn't get boring after the 500th time of anything.

Um... if that was their goal, I'm going to have to disagree and say that they failed pretty badly. Without passing judgement on whether it's fun or not, I will say that it's anything but realistic.

But that's ok. As much as people say they do, the last thing anyone really wants in their game is realism. Usually they ask for some idealized version of reality that is anything but.

Nobody uses reality in a literal sense.

Personally I like the combat in Skyrim more than in games that are more focused on action. It relies more on your characters stats and less on twitch-gameplay.

If you want to oneshot something, invest in a skill and use a good weapon in that skill towards a low level enemy or play on novice.

As for the crossbows:Supposedly some files added with the latest patch imply that they might be added in the future.

Skyrim is fine the way it is. Weapon wise. Crossbows wouldn't hurt though

mage is fun. Fire ball basically explodes every hit. I just love that skill. Explosion ftw.
i wish i could dual wield two fireball staff, with unlimited charges 100 damage each, and its party time

I wouldn't say Skyrim's combat system is realistic. I would say, however, that the combat system is exactly how Bethesda wanted it to be. I will also comment that I love it and have fun with it regardless of how it is. TES games don't focus on the combat as much as they focus on the actual world, and this is nothing new, if you played Oblivion (I'd say Morrowind too, but I assume you haven't touched that one) you shouldn't be surprised or expected anything else when you picked up this game.

Getting a kill cam with Fireball is always pretty epic, slow motion explosion on a Draugr Deathlord feels awesome.

Question - if Skyrim's combat is "boring" and doesn't have enough options.... how is that any different than Oblivion's? Oblivion combat - hit things. Skyrim at least made bashing more interesting, added the whole dual-wield weapons/spells/shields thing, and added the finishers. Compared to Oblivion, there's much more going on.

Things wrong with this post:

1. Spelling is inconsistent, as is capitalization.
2. Saying Borderlands svcked has nothing to do with the topic, just because it's his avatar does not mean you should go off-topic in your own thread.
3. Retaliating by saying the other poster is a little kid shows your maturity. "No I'm not a little kid! You are!" You know how childish that sounds?
4. Saying that "mw" which I assume stands for Modern Warfare is the same problem as the third.

Questions?
