my bosses boss wants to xfer me

So... I got a p/t job.

My bosses boss is making my boss xfer me to a diff location. They can't make me.. but they want me to. They are not clear as to why.

No one kept me in the loop and then they expect me to go with the flow. Its no inconvinence to me to xfer, plus I get a increase in salary and I save more time from work/travel/etc. Its been a week since I was suppose to xfer, every week I don't go they loose money, and this is another week. I have skills and knowledge they want, but I'm kinda pissed they think they can let me know last minute and I'll just go with it. They know my situation and that it would not inconvinence me but I fabricated some lies so they think they were mistaken about my situation.
I don't have alota work experience when it comes to a situation like this so i don't know if I'm making the right decision based on emotion or or just as a business decision. Thoughts? I don't want to go to people I know as I'm always the guy with solutions to problems, not one with problems, and I can't go to hr... well because its their hr.

Should I just not xfer because of what they expected of me?

I don't know if they have somethinnbg big coming their not telling me about, in which I can demand a bigger pay increase.. I just don't know.. but I do know it was specifically requested for me at that specific place... so I dunno what to do..

Refusing and playing difficult is a bit of a career-limiting move. It sounds to me like you're cutting your nose off to spite your face. Who cares that they didn't tell you? You get benefit out of transferring in extra pay, extra time due to less travel and less expenditure, once again due to less travel. You say you haven't much experience... I suggest that if you don't transfer they'll just employ someone else for that position. If they want you to move they obviously don't need you where you currently are. I think that if you don't move you'll be searching for another job in a years' time. Best case scenario if you stay where you are - few promotion opportunities, minimum, if any, salary increase and no bonus. Worst case, and quite likely - involuntary redundancy.

I'm assuming an "xfer" is a transfer?

Well, you said it yourself, this transfer offers you better pay and better location. It doesnt inconvienient you in any way and if anything, only offers benifets. I dont really understand why you're complaining. It doesnt seem as though you're being transfered to get rid of you, it just sounds like they need you elsewhere. If you want to know why you were transfered, why not just raise your concerns with your boss? Lying to them probably wasnt the best decision, as is not going to work.

Frankly, I say svck it up sunshine, take the horrible burden of more money and less travel time, and if you want to know why you were transfered, ask.

More money, better location, and you keep just not going?

I'm sorry, but what the hell is wrong with you?

Increase in pay, doesn't inconvenience you at all and you save time from travel. You're not accepting this promotion because your boss assumed you would do what he told you to?

Are you high?

It is irrational and childish to expect bosses to keep you always on the loop. You work for them, not the other way around. Stop playing teen and go with the job, get the better pay and stop fooling around. When they found someone with your skills, you're as dead as Dogmeat.

The benefit of staying at my current location is that I know everyone and everything, that being if I wanted something done its no problem, no questions asked, very very flexible work schedule, my coworkers are all cool, all of them and they all know me. I can already feel stressed from thinking about being in a new work Environ, ent, and on top of that they are only offering me the minimum, when I know they can do better ( thanks to old boss who always kept me in the know, he would always say if they come to you ask for more money, now he left and I loose access to knowledge.

I just feel like I'm getting punked. I feel like they just doing what business ppl do, get the most for less.

Its a temp position till they can fix their management team. So its not a permanent increase in pay.o

So, I was thinking of talking to two of em and asking why, if they give inconsistent answers I ask for better pay, if I get consistent answers I'll just accept.
They're not being specific with what they want from me

Well in that case, just discuss more with your "new boss" then. Let him know you are willing to help, but you're worrying uncertainty of the new working environment and new tasks, you would like a clearer picture. Working in a new environment isn't bad, hell it's even good. Meeting new folks, learning new things, new work protocals and procedures, it broadens your view.

I just got assigned a one week task in mainland China and it's my first time flying away from my own city. Man what a blast. Even though the tech here is obviously lower than in Hong Kong, but knowing these new people around new places with new lifestyle and new food, is just awesome.
