Bought Dawnguard and ... : V

I can't no longer launch skyrim , the game loads up to when the menu is about to appear then crashes , I removed all mods and it just crashes , ( I had just a couple anyway )
I set the load order as Dawnguard first after the main and just crashes ...

nothing I do can make it run so , Is it worth the 20 Euros ? So far I'd say no as it made unplayable even the vanilla game ....

Any idea on how to be able to play it ?

I use a Italian version .

EDIT:

I used some kind of mod in the folders that altered animation or touched somehow them and caused the game to now work properly with horse animations ...
The CTD I solved by redownloading and reinstalling skyrim so most probably is Valve and steam to blame not Bethesda ...
Finally I still have some random CTD that suddenly bring me to descktop ... I dunno yet what this is due to ....

Yeah I have the same problem...I bought it an hour ago and cannot get it working.
I disabled all mods, I even deleted the data folder and redownloaded it. It still crashes when dawnguard is activated in the launcher.

I have the german version.

SO ITalian and German version make the game crash at menu and is Unplayable ... Great way to spend our money he?

Well, on the Xbox those versions were buggy too, so you'll just have to wait for Beth to get around fixing it. In about half-a-week in the xbox version's case.

This whole DLC has been one giant slow-motion trainwreck :lmao:

Sounds like the Dawnguard master file is bad, so just not loading or deleting it should work. In the worst case scenario, switching Steam to offline mode and deleting all Dawnguard files should fix it.

I'm eager to know what is your issue because I've got Italian version too and I can't wait to buy Dawnguard. However I don't want to compromize my installation.

I'd like to know if someone was able to run Dawnguard with SKSE and SkyUI ( the only mod I cannot live without ^^, )

Downloaded it this morning, played about 4 hours without any problems even with all mods activated ( about 25 mods)

Did you try to change the language to English and look, if it's working then? I got the German version too, but I'm playing in English. However if DG is that seriously bugged, I'm not going to buy it.
@Prometheus: Does that mean, now you can't even play the game without having DG activated? If so, I am definitely not going to buy it, I don't want to screw up my game!

Hello everyone. I have a similar problem (but without the game starts DG) version of the RUS. Disgusting been established customer support. Some brainless FAQ and can not leave a request. and even with this theme I see no technical support is not unsubscribed. Conclusion guys bethesda as though we are told, "Why did you buy the licensed games? take the pirated versions are no worse than not!" with the next game from bethesda.

Just to let you know : I own the French version of Skyrim and I got the exact same problem as PROMETHEUS_ts (meaning my game works just fine as long as I don't activate Dawnguard)...

. Have you tried verifying the Dawnguard files? Go to Steam's Library, then right-click on Dawnguard, select 'properties', then the 'local files' tab, and finally click on 'verify integrity of game cache'. You could have a corrupt download.

You folks commenting on how yours works should consider mentioning what language version you are using...might be a little more helpful.

Tell that to every foreign language Dawguard version of the Xbox version. :tongue:

Is it confirmed this new issue only pops up with foreign versions or are english speakers (and countries) getting this too?
