Bound Bow range

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:30 pm

I've been using the Bound Bow spell on my new character, but I've noticed that it's range is substancially less than the normal bows I used on my old character. The arrow starts to drop down very quickly instead of flying nice and straight, so I have to aim above targets even at medium range.

I have made some changes to my skyrim prefs that makes arrows able to hit extreme long range targets, which works nicely on normal bows. Is it possible that's somehow having a negative affect on the bound bow?

It might tweak it on your bound bow as the game may not count it as a normal bow for some reason, I personally only used bound bow to level up archery though while shooting my own Atronachs when I realized that Archery was actually going to be a bit enjoyable in Skyrim but my Archery was like 20 or less...

#snip#
I'm pretty sure Beths tweaked actual bows and left out or forgot to update the bound ones.

Pretty sure even before I tweaked the ini normal bows were still pretty good though :\
They couldn't hit extreme long range targets, but only because the arrow disappears after a certain distance, not because the bow lacks range to begin with.

I'm pretty sure Beths tweaked actual bows and left out or forgot to update the bound ones.

Ah ok that makes more sense >.<

Can anyone else confirm?

What sort of extreme range are we on about here, because i hit the bandit outside Bleak Falls Barrow from the bottom corner where you first arrive, that seemed soooo far at the time... :)
