I got a bounty note from an inn and done it before I finished the quest that saves Dawnstar from nightmares, then I realised I can't get my bounty.

So I went and did the nightmare quest and now the 'Bounty from Skald' quests just get stuck in my miscellaneous quest and there's nothing I can do about it. Won't show marker or whatever when I click and Skald won't give me dialogue to finish the quest. Anymore bounties I finish, I can obtain the money, but then I get even more 'bounty from Skald' stuck in my miscellaneous quest section...

Anybody else got this? Anyway to fix this? I assume I'd have to use the console for this, I guess Any fixes without using console?

Yeah, I have TWO such entries to collect a bounty from him - both broken. I too somehow managed to complete the bounties before they were offered just through random exploring. I've been offered subsequent missions (kill a particular giant being one) since and that appeared to work ok.

I've no fix for it, sorta hope the forthcoming patch will tidy such things up.

I also have an issue where I turned in a bounty but he is still in my quest list. I have not pursured the Dawnfire quest at all, other than hearing NPCs discussing it.

I have this problem as well - occurred when I was given two bounties for the same giant. Only happened with Skald; probably a small error in his script.

It's really minor, I guess, but I hope this gets fixed.

To be honest I haven't encountered any bugs in my game (level 30 now, did quite a few quests) except for the Alva affiliation bug (vampire is tagged as townsfolk in a vampire hideout) which is easy to fix (just kill her anyway and pretend the tagging was never wrong ).

But I see this bug every time I open the miscellaneous quest menu

Agggghhhhh this has been happening to me too!!!
Very frustrating when you're trying to clear out the Misc. Quest section and it's ALWAYS THERE!!!
I wonder if it'll ever go away - I got them for both of the Giant missions....bleah.

I have three of the "return to Skald" items still in my log even after I finished them all.

I have the same problem as well. I killed a dragon and successfully collected by bounty from Skald, but it never cleared from my journal. Where can we report these bugs to Bethesda?

Same here, its a common and unavoidable bug unfortunatly. Jarl Skald wont remove any actual bounty quests from your journal after they are turned in. That includes bounties given by innkeepers, his steward, or himself.

I have had this issue as well. Some misc bounty quests worked with Skald but the one that stuck is where I had to kill the dragon at shear point.

When i return and talk to Skald the words "the dragon at shear point is dead, i am here for the bounty" is greyed out. Clicking on this gives you the bounty but does not close down the quest. So... I reverted to a previous save game and will do it once it is patched...

I have downloaded the latest patch (out today) and just checked to see if it is fixed. This is not patched yet.

Back over to Bethesda to fix this quest bug. Lots and lots of people suffering from it still.................

I have this bug as well, but quite frankly, I hope Bethesda focuses their efforts on fixing more of the "Game-Breaking" bugs than this one. Having this linger in my Misc Quest tab doesn't really bother me.

I have it too. Worse, I have a similar "stuck" quest in Riften, and that one is the one I need to become Thane.
