See, now you're tempting me to side with Mr. House, and I'm a die-hard NCR supporter!

I have to agree, and the way they captured Mr. House as the businessman protecting his investments unstead of some evil corporation (which is what I was was hoping for him to be release) is captured even better than I hoped it to be. The end slides and dialogue for Mr. House are well delivered.

Yeah the Mr. House character was great. I haven't played to win his side of the story yet.

My favorite story so far (did NCR 1st, now about to finish CL) is Caesars legion.

Cue the audience clap hands and whoo sound files. :P
Anyway, on a scale of 1-10 how good was his quest line?
I'm on NCR run this time so it will be around 70 hours until I can do his quests.

8.5/10 solid. At least in my opinion.

Mr. House's character? 9.5/10.

I was also surprised to see that my character's karma decided how House filled his role in the ending slides.

Aside from the many characters, I'd say Mr. House and Yes Man are two which definitely stand out.

Me and I whole heartedly agree. He was talking down to you at the right spots and where professional at other spots. A perfect voice to the perfect man. Sadly, I didn't get to meet him in person.

Wow, let me make this simple. Im not saying I don't like the better parts of FNV. But people keep defending some of the mistakes that were made and I can't understand why.

1) Do you guys like the fact they removed most of the unique crafted weapons?
2) In Fallout 3, they didn't have 5% of the invisible walls like in FNV. Do you like invisible walls?
3) Do you like the lack of underground exploring?
4) Do you think having all of the buildings out in the waist land locked? Ok lets say 80% of them?
5) Is it a bad idea to have Blueprints that you can actually view in inventory to see what materials you need before you go to the bench?
6) Would it be a good idea to use a stove or BBQ as well as a camp fire with no flames?
7) As for a Marked location, should it have more than a dead [censored] brahman?
8) The armor variants from Fallout were awsome. So its a bad idea to have a bunch more armor styles?
9) Places like the Museum's were attempted in FNV, but they were poorly done. Yes I would like more of them to exist.... So for the mojave this is not period or geographically in correct?
10) Since when is it not a major aspect of the Fallout series to have a large exploration facet?
11) Again when is it not a major part to find buildings/vaults and dungeons a major part of this type of RPG?

So that is all I have been saying... If you dont agree on the issues I want to see come back in the next installment, thats cool. I was just giving my opinion of n the game.

But yeah.. on an ending note, it is a fact, this will not compare in replay status compared to FO3. Send me a note and I will make a small side bet with ya if you would like.

If you need to have a shovel in order to dig a grave, why don't you need to have a frying pan in order to skillet some meat?

You can't have everything and for buildings being locked: All those items laying around has to make some sense, don't you agree?

If you need to have a shovel in order to dig a grave, why don't you need to have a frying pan in order to skillet some meat?

Doesn't that turn FALLOUT into GOTHIC?

There is nothing wrong with that, of course. It's just that I don't want ALL my cRPGs to be Teutonic.

NEHRIM turns OBLIVION into excruciating minutia - there is only so much of that I can take.

Yes, I'm in the minority. I get that a game gets more involved when you have to do all that brahmin doodoo. I played ULTIMA 6 and 7 where you had to feed and rest the entire party, where each key was a separate item, where you had to worry about extreme heat (THE BLACK GATE) and even frost bite (THE SERPENT ISLE) but that was 1992. I'm sure I don't want to go back there. And I am sure that though it makes a game more involved or "realististic" it doesn't make a game better.

I'm not saying "simpler" = "better" either. (this clarification for the peanut gallery who likes to pick posts apart and pounce on a single sentence out of context) What I'm for is the paring down of features to what makes the game move along. I mean: if eating is so important to some players, why not hygiene? Cardiovascular exercise? Gun maintenance (you don't have maintenance in FALLOUT, you have *field repair*)? Clothing?

That last one was on the actual design doc for DAGGERFALL: nobles would be uninclined to talk to a character dressed in cruddy armor instead of "rich robes". Might have been interesting.

It's all arbitrary and evidently motivated solely by what gamers have seen before - we keep hearing the same demands over and over.

1) Do you guys like the fact they removed most of the unique crafted weapons?

I didn't mind most of the crafted weapons missing, because I never used most of the crafted weapons. The only one I miss is the sishkebab. The rest simply aren't that interesting. Particularly in a context where other guns are available.

2) In Fallout 3, they didn't have 5% of the invisible walls like in FNV. Do you like invisible walls?

In Fallout 3, the walls were generally huge piles of rubble that should be easily climbable, but weren't for some reason. Or still-standing buildings that you miraculously can't pass through to get to the other side.

3) Do you like the lack of underground exploring?

...There is underground exploring. There's a huge drainage system underneath Vegas that I got lost in several times. Also, large numbers of mines and caves, which count as underground. And on top of that, frankly, the underground exploring in Fallout 3 was one of the weakest parts of the game, since there was almost nothing of interest down there and it was all the same.

4) Do you think having all of the buildings out in the waist land locked? Ok lets say 80% of them?

Which is no different from Fallout 3. The Wasteland Interior mod in Fo3 came about precisely because 99% of all structures in FO3 were boarded up set pieces.

6) Would it be a good idea to use a stove or BBQ as well as a camp fire with no flames?

Yeah, it would. Just like it'd be good to get the bottle back from drinking a nuka cola, and just like how you should be able to refill bottles from water sources. In both games. Mind, those stoves are all gas (pilot light, yo?) and I very highly doubt there's any natural gas around to actually ignite, given how the leadup to the great war had most resources like that being depleted.

7) As for a Marked location, should it have more than a dead [censored] brahman?

Considering that the marked locations with dead brahmin are quest-relevant (in particular, Cass' quest), I don't think it should.

8) The armor variants from Fallout were awsome. So its a bad idea to have a bunch more armor styles?

Uh, whut? New Vegas has more armor styles. It has all the merc and raider gear, plus more combat armor, plus more clothes, plus the whole NCR/Legion series, plus the powder ganger gear... The only thing it's missing are some varieties of power armor. Except Enclave PA is replaced by Remnants PA, which means the only variation on PA you're missing is Outcast PA, which wouldn't really fit the context.

10) Since when is it not a major aspect of the Fallout series to have a large exploration facet?

Since every game that isn't Fallout 3.

11) Again when is it not a major part to find buildings/vaults and dungeons a major part of this type of RPG?

Again, since every game that isn't Fallout 3. In fact, I can't think of a single "dungeon" location anywhere in FO1 or 2 that wasn't relevant to a quest and didn't have its own self-consistent reason for existing.

But yeah.. on an ending note, it is a fact, this will not compare in replay status compared to FO3. Send me a note and I will make a small side bet with ya if you would like.

I don't see how this statement is accurate, considering how there's five ending paths to Fallout 3's one and a half.

This.

See, this guy really knows what he is saying.

Next Instead of just randomly posting things you hate that pretty much come from your desire to keep playing FO3 and have everything be the same, instead of accepting good changes.

On topic, I really did enjoy the endings, and going through each one is going to get me at least 150-200 more hours of gameplay.

Then comes the great trophy hunt.

Bravo Obsidian. Bravo indeed.

I was listening to Mr.House and I thought of all you said about house.

Also I kind of guest right on him being in an awake kind of stasis-woohoo!

When I asked about the snowglobes it made me laugh out loud.

This game made me 'lol' alot.

I just finished my NCR Sniper with 58 hours, now I'm starting my Energy Mobster/Suave Talker, and the game still feels fresh!!!

I'm doing the Yes Man play through this time btw.
Next I'm doing a Caesars Legion melee/unarmed character. I haven't decided what my Mr. House character will do.

I can't wait to play it! I bought it on release day, but I got the DLC Bug after 4 hours and it corrupted all my saves, even the ones I started in a new game. Bravo Obsidian, Bravo.
