Breaking a Quest...

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:33 pm

Is it me or is there a lot of side quest that have been poorly made in Skyrim that "break" to often? when i say "break" I mean you went through the quest that somehow glitched it and now you can never complete it and it stays in your quest list FOREVER, and if you play like I do you don't save that often. Has anybody had a "broken" quest before?

There have been a few broken misc quest for me, but lucky I've not run into any major faction plot-line quest breaks.

That's what I'm saying, the quest that the designers didn't put as much effort into (the misc. or somewhat bigger quest) they left a loophole or something that doesn't allow you to finish the quest.

radiant quests all svck, they are way to easy to break without failing (i miss failing quests, i could even fail in oblivion, but i can try to fail in skyrim and fail at failing!!)

the second quest for the white phial can break if you have already killed or ventured into the forsworn camp that you have to get the briarheart from

I just deleted all saves of a lvl 51 character because I got frustrated at being unable to complete the quest with the unusual gems lol.

But in a game of this size it is to be expected that it is buggy on release and I expected no different.
I think that bugs like these will be adressed in future patches.

Am I the only one who has never experienced any serious, "quest-breaking" glitches?
Well, apart from that Gulum-Ei glitch, Skyrim works fine for me.
Apart from that, check out the latest patches.

I play 3 different characters, and try to keep them doing different quests, too. Altogether 281 hours now.

I have one broken quest so far - and it's a side-quest.

I'm on the PC, and tried to fix it with the console, but nothing doing. I even resurrected the guy you have to go see, figuring it may restart the quest, but he just ignores you.

Haven't gone far into the main quest yet, so we'll have to wait and see.

I've nearly broke quests before, but always managed to progress them after a couple of reloads.

I have a couple of broken misc quests now. One where someone I have to speak to is not there anymore
Spoiler
Aldis is no longer in the game once the stormcloak questline is complete.

The other is where there is no options when I speak to the person I am supposed to.

I also had a 'fishing' quest and the target got killed (not by me) it didn't update the quest and there was no quest marker. I had to cancel the quest.

It seems almost as bad as Morrowind was for breaking quests.
