Breezehome or other?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:11 pm

I love my Breezhome, i know its the cheapest forst house u kinda get but its so simple, right next to where i can buy and sell stuff and make armour and i dont have to load through many barriers to sell and buy stuff, i realise its not as good as other houses where i can display my gear and have nice things but its small and simple plus whiterun is open aired and fresh in the morning and the sky is clear and the people are friendly enough makarth is too stoney and riften smells like sewer (u can just tell) and althoguh i am the arch mage of winterholm i am happiest in my lil breezehome, just wish i could change the darn name, so what your fav home/house and why

Honestly, it's Breezehome, in Whiterun.

Reason why: I love the community. Whiterun is my favorite city, although it's very small, (Especially after what happened during the civil war), I still love the people, the shops and the Jarl.
The house is small, but I don't care. All I have living with me is my wife, Camillia.
The house is big enough for us both, so it's fine. After decorating the whole house, it feels like Home Sweet Home.

For me it's a toss up between Hjerim for the sheer amount of display space, and Vlindrel Hall for the architecture.

I'm a Hjerim fan, personally.

Breezehome has the benefit of an alchemist satchel ON the alchemy table... and proximity to the blacksmiths with everything...
BUT the only thing Hjerim doesn't have is convenient storage-places. It DOES have the enchanting table and three mannequins... and also the blacksmiths isn't that far away.
Compare that to the mansion in Solitude which is inconvenience on a stick besides the shops nearby...

I Like the Markarth house a little bit better than Breezehome. I like the way it's layed out. The architecture, The feeling of durability. I like the view out the front door. Their still aren't enough bookshelves but at least theirs more.

I think I'd rather live in Whiterun though. better feeling comunity.

Breezehome is my base of operations. It's nicely sized, cozy, I like the decor, and it's in Whiterun, which is pretty much the heart of Skyrim.

I bought the Solitude house walked around it... decided that it was just layed out badly, storage wasn't where it was needed. I debated on weather or not to reload to before I bought the house, didn't.

With all the perks of living in Riften I have chosen Honeyside as my humble abode. The majestic golden hued trees that glisten off of Lake Honrich and the six o'clock sun have pulled me to this port city. I also believe this city to be highly defenable as to have an orch village to the East, Fort Green Wall to the North, the geographical benefits of Lake Honrich and the surrounding forest, and the thieves guild and Nightingales--offering me the sense of Securtiy I need. It isn't just the safety of Riften, but the political discourse that lures me here. Like how Falion protects Morthal, I feel as if it is necessary for me to reside in Riften to keep the stability of the Rift in these troubled times. Riften is also the most ideal location for more arcane purposes. As a carrier of Sanguinare Vampiris the nearby bunkhouse, a hotbead of fresh meals, keeps me content with little chance of detection. This city is also more unique in its two level canol structure, and is the only town which marraige is feasible keeping visitors in line to enter. The house honeyside itself lends a garden, and a porch with a beautiful view of Lake Honrich; it is also another way into the city rather than the front door while under heat. This home provides all features of a large home like Proudspire Manor or Hjerm with minimal space making it exemplary for those wanting a home the size of Breezehome with all the perks of a larger model. The town is also for the most part friendly and can keep any new homeowner busy meeting the neigborhood. This town is perfect for me and everyone who is not content with their home should considered moving to the fishery city of Riften.

Proudspire Manor is my main home, Honeyside is my Treasury House, Breezholme is my crafting house, Vlindrel Hal is my own Dwremer Museum and Hjerm is my armoury.

Breezehome's biggest advantage? It's in Whiterun. Whiterun is smack-dab in the middle of the province. Location location location!

Add on top of that the inevitable Balmora Syndrome that Whiterun will have.... ;)

It's actually a perfect house.

close to shops, 2 forges, companions, talos , and close to middle of map.

yes, i got already all houses that i can get and not one of them is as good as breezehome, to me. it just feels home. you enter it and it just feels so warm and comfortable.... i also prefer the size of breezehome over the size of a home like the one in solitude. the big houses feel so... cold.

Not perfect.

No Arcane Enchanter.

(The one in Dragonsreach isn't close enough)

My favorites are the ones in Whiterun and Riften.

I have not got the one in Winterhelm yet.

I do love the view from the home in Markarth.

Proudspire Manor is my favorite. It helps that I was able to use the "Buy House then quickly put the gold into a cubboard" trick to get it for free. (Slow Time Shout makes it easier)

While I thought about the Markarth and Riften houses, there's an RP problem I have. I REALLY don't like the idea of my wife being at home all day and night, while I'm out killing dragons, with a male Housecarl. Yes, its a video game and all. But it just bothers me. I don't mind a female Housecarl, I'm ok with my wife getting "lonely" with Lydia or the Swordmaided. Plus its nice that its so close to the Blue Palace for fast traveling.

Proudspire is the largest and nicest house with a female housecarl, so its the winner for me.

Where is another home thats in a nice providence town, smack dab in the middle of the map with close shops, nice jarls, a nice community, close Forgers, etc.

I like Honeyside in Riften. It's pretty small, but it has a garden, complete with chickens, and you can enter it directly from out side of Riften via a porch connected a dock near the stables. Aside from that, I would go with Hjerim, but I'm not a very big fan of Windhelm.

I'm with ya, OP. I feel very attached to Breezehome despite getting houses in Markarth or Riften. It's small and cozy, feels like a true home for an adventurer. :)

I like the Markarth house because its just packed full of containers and amenities. Its the hoarder's dream home. ;)

I use Breezehome the most though because its cozy and Whiterun's plonk in the center of the map.

Yeah, Breezehome is conveniently located in the middle of Skyrim, but all it has is an alchemy station, and a few measly display plaques and racks. None of the homes have what I really want: a fully equipped forge right next to an enchanting station. I could care less about an alchemy station, although I wouldn't complain about having one so long as it didn't take up any space that could be occupied by display stands, or the aforementioned forge & enchanting station. My favorite for outside architecture would be Proudspire Manor, Hjerim for the sheer amount of stuff packed into it, and Breezehome for the location. I would love to have a home in Dawstar or Winterhold without having to pretend that the Dark Brotherhood lair or College of Winterhold was my personal abode.

My favorite home in Oblivion was always the little shack on the Waterfront. I wish there was a play home that small in Skyrim. Being an adventurer and all, a small cozy shack with lots of storage is the best place for me.
