OK. I have no male character so I can't say whether there are issues with them as well, but since the latest game update, the available warpaint for females has changed.

I do use a lot of mods, but this is what I did to isolate the issue and determine that the base game has changed:



I just downloaded the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3563 optional warpaint replacement files so I could check their file structure (to see what files I should be looking for, since I didn't know what controlled warpaint). Since it makes all of the warpaint on females look like lace, it was very easy to check ingame whether it was working or not -- it did. Theirs sends stuff to Textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks. I have nothing there in my game (no character assets folder period), so this has to be something that last update to the game itself did.

I also just looked at all the human races/elves, and the warpaint I originally used isn't an option for any of them. It seems like a good number of the ones that were standard across all the races have changed for me. The first one, for instance, is that messy bit around the eyes that Vilkas and Farkas have, except it's on my girls.

you should ask the modder to update their mod to work with latest game, not the other way around asking the dev to change their game to suit the mod.

I used the mod to make sure something I had downloaded wasn't responsible. Actually read the OP before you respond with craziness. (The mod worked fine, by the way...also in the OP...but it was only temporarily installed to see where texture files modifying warpaint went, so I could make sure there weren't any others hanging around in there.)

Just to be VERY, VERY CLEAR. I have absolutely no mods modifying warpaint. The warpaint available to me simply changed with the last game update, including the warpaint I already had on my orc.
