Brink Ability Preview, Day 4: The Soldier's Scavenge

Scavenge the equipment of Dead enemies by interacting with them to refill your Supply meter.

Seems pretty cool, i hope when it says "interact with enemies" its not like a CoD deal where it just means run over their corpse. I really hope it means you actually have to go over and push a button to like search through their kit or something kinda similar to having to hold a button to plant a bomb.

The term "interact" implies that it's an activated ability that you have to press a button for.

That's my guess, anyway.

Looks awesome.

Yeah see thats what i was thinking when i read it, but at the same time surely running into something is "interaction" its just passive interation. I hope this is about active interaction, i really do. Then it makes this scavenger ability a bit more tactical like, "OH CRAP I'M OUT AMMO, Do i risk death and make that mad dash to pick up the ammo of that dead guy i just killed or do i kill the other 2 people with my sidearm first and then go get ammo"

I would probably kill the other two depending on who i had with me and how long it takes to pick up ammo and also how much cover i had on my route to the ammo.

Sweet, an ability I didn't know about. And it seems pretty appropriate for a Soldier.

If I were to guess how it works, I would assume it's similar to how an Operative gets a disguise or does a comm hack - meaning hit the X button/Square/Whatever the PC button is on the corpse.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't supply the new term for "pip"? If so this ability is awesome, you're not picking up ammo you're refilling your ability to use your "buffs" and make your team better

Oh crap yeah! I thought that was a bit odd seeing as soldiers can give out ammunition for free anyway!

Refilling supply (pip) bar from dead guys? WIN!

Yeah, i mean all the abilities will be pretty good for their respective classes though won't they.

They did change a few of them around to better suit a class.

This seems very useful. Might lure away some operatives to the soldier role. They are seriously lacking in number.

I want to know what the ability two blocks above the scavange is. Is that like a flash bomb or the smoke bomb maybe?

Really is and makes sense for the frontline soldier.

And even moreso when they're kitted out with a nice selection of grenades types.

Pips are a unit of measurement, used to describe the segmented sections of the health and supply meters.

Though you are right to an extent - I think Splash used to refer to supplies as pips because they hadn't come up with a term for it yet.

That's my guess too, I reckon they'll have a contextual "interact" button.

Like that one as well.

I was thinking about playing a Soldier rather than an Operative for the ammo-refill. Now that they can also refill their supplies, the soldier might just be what I want the most.
But then again I have to sacrifice my disguise-abilitiy .... mwaaah.

I believe they have already been posted but have fallen under, just go back a few pages or look up the Brink facebook page and go to their wall photos.

The Scavenge symbol looks oddly a lot like the Black Ops 5th prestige symbol.
