Is Brink dead on the PS3?

Post » Sat Jun 11, 2011 12:17 am

When I play online, most matches are filled with bots, I rarely get matches filled with humans. This is an epic fail for a game which is focused on multiplay in my opionion. Maybe the game is already dead on the PS3 and almost nobody is playing anymore. What do you think?

Might be what time you log into to play, or your location. I'm on the east coast (NYC obviously) and there's never a shortage of people in matches. In fact, I end up having to play solo free mode sometimes because I DON'T want to play matches against other people. It's far from dead my friend. You just need to do some networking, because it my not be a very popular game in your region.

I don't think so at all, it may take a couple matches but I usually find people.

I usually only play competition matches. There are only human players in those matches. I think the minimum requirement is 2 vs 2 but I'm almost always in 4 vs 4 matches.

Definitely not. I believe it works off ping, because I never get matched to a game that gives me less than a 95% full connection bar. Even if I have US friends online I will NEVER EVER get connected to their games unless I follow them myself, just because my bar goes down to 20%-60% (depending on who's hosting and how many people there are)... even if I'm not finding any players locally and keep getting connected to bots.

I think there should be a setting you can check that just says "[censored] ping", and allows the game to join you into any match regardless of how bad your connection will be. I don't have any problem playing with US/UK players; sure, I lag, but it's hardly noticeable with a few people and still bearable with 8 or so.

If you want to get in more games find people who use the chat system. It works quite well and I am starting to prefer it over in game matchmaking. If you'd like to get a good start add me and I'll invite you to the BIG TEAMS chat/lobby I'm in. We play quite frequently and big teams are becoming more and more prevalent.

If someone asks you for chatroom invites, please make sure you invite to the Unofficial Brink Chat room as well.

It's fine to have other chatrooms for more specific modes...but we don't want to split up the community too much. If someone isn't specifically only wanting to play Big Teams...then they would probably want an invite to the general room as well.
I would appreciate it. :)

And if anyone wants invites...add M82-Tango. I'll give you invites to the Unofficial Brink Chat Room, the Big Teams room, and the Co-op room.

I agree! I find plenty of full on games and they are getting crazy. Lots of good matches. At first I was thinking the same thing that the community was small, but then there posts here with players looking to start community nights and need adds. As someone said, "Need to do some networking'!

I have been trying to get into competition mode matches all week to no avail. Always puts me in my own room in which I wait 1-2hrs and no one ever joins. Now either the games is dying down because of the lack of a matchmaking system or the matchmaking system is really that messed up that the entire week I have yet to play against players.
