Brink: DLC 2?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:39 pm

i rlly do hope they make a dlc 2 and im pretty sure they will, but will they make more then 2-3 or will the lack of profit keep them from even having a thought about 8 or 9 dlc's? I am not hating at all im just stating the truth. This is by far my favorite game but i dont blame splash damage if they dont want to make another dlc, the lack of community rlly brings the profit down which makes less money for the company which makes them not want to spend the time making any more dlc's. but the free dlc definitely brought more ppl back to see what new stuff splash damage brought to the table. I dont think ppl will stay on brink until the next dlc. only the ones, like me, who like the game that much will stay on it. All the other ones who only came back on for the dlc will most likely go back to whatever game they usually play. But if splash damage makes another great dlc like this maybe instead of 2 maps maybe 3-4 maps will encourage more ppl to come back or buy the game. I got about 5 of my friends to buy this game and 2 of my friends bought it because they saw me playing it and 1 rented it and now wants to buy it. This is a great game. I hope we do see future dlc's because this game is a great game and it deserves a huge community unlike COD so the more we play brink the more it encourages SD to make more dlc's. They got a lot of space to fill on that map of theres. Hopefully we may even see a brink 2. Rumor says there already working on it. Hopefully they can redeem themselves from that awful lag they had at the begging of the game. But what do you think? How many dlc's do you think they will make? answers the polls above ^^^ and feel free to give your opinion. Brink FTW.

It would seem a bit churlish if they didn't release the rest of the game.

I had a feeling this kind of thread would come. Once you have a taste of what Brink can deliver, you want even more. Come on, the DLC just came out yesterday- give them some time!

8-9 DLCs? With the support Brink's been getting, I think not. Even with an increased player base, I don't even think we'll be getting a second one.

I will stick with the game, considering 2/3 of my friend list contains Brink players now. Heck, I might even stick with it for a bit after BF3 comes out!

yes i know the first one just came out, im not rushing, i'd rather have it take 2 months then 1 month to make it 5 times better. i was just asking do you think they will make a 2nd one. However i hope they make a Brink 2 just because i think they can redeem themselfs by making it lag free and listening to the community

i think it all depends on the number of people who downloaded the free dlc. bethesda probably assumes that the same number of people who downloaded it for free are willing to drop money for it. so if the numbers are high enough, and they feel they will make an *acceptable* profit, then more DLC will come. Although in my opinion we might get one more but that is it. And now I think the should focus on clan support. And one last thing. if another DLC does come out, trust me it will take at least 4 months so don't hold your breath.

THUS, why we must send messages to all our friends online and offline telling them to DL the free DLC while they can. Then they can rent it and try it out... and end up buying it. I brought my copy to a friends to let him try it. He didn't really like it at all at first.. but then his mood started changing once he got past LV10.

Now he's going to get it with his next paycheck. Every person counts, literally. The Free DLC can be a way to snag people in. And now we have the weapon tweaks and (semi-fixed) lag, more people will change there minds.

EDIT: I hope we can get at least one more if not two DLC's. I want them to complete all the days in the Campaign though! :D

Even Call of Duty or Halo doesn't get more then three or four DLC packs. Even though they make much money off of them and have a much larger playbase.

If SD cares for the Brink player base, they might try to crank another out. (400-800 Microsoft points [$5-$10] likely as they may not be able to deal another temp freebee.) But I can't blame them if they are unable to or put most of their efforts into their next project.
