I really hope for the sake of replayability and for community health they do some sort of competition for new archetypes.

I know I'm getting my hopes up about that. It's pretty common for developers to put out DLC regarding character customization, and considering the depth of Brink's makes it one of the selling points, I'm sure SD will expand it further.
