Brinkster hardcoes

Picked up a pre-owned copy from GameStop at lunch, will plug it in tonight and have a week to see if I like it. I read somewhere here that there is an instructional section. I’ll find that and complete it first then head online to get a feel for this.

I’m one who loved the likes of Resistance 2’s coop and MAG. Of course I have the popular run-n-gun FPS games (Resistance, CoD, Battlefield, etc), I’ve completed all of their campaigns at the highest levels. However, I’m always in the bottom third of the list at the end of MP games but do love them. I do much better (and hence enjoy the games even more) in the non-death match type games (i.e. R2 coop, MAG, capture the flag, etc.) where XP is available for things other than just killing.

Well enough of all that, just a bit of background showing why I’m interested to see if this would be a longer term involvement game where I can break the cycle of beat campaign, enjoy some MP, next title/version comes out, rinse and repeat.

I assume this game may be more like MAG, in that it might have a high learning curve, thus I’m not concerned about any instance gratification (see rinse and repeat above).
I’m coming into this with the attitude that I too want to become a hardcoe Brinkster, and thus my interest would be in pointers of how to best determine what I should pursue first, where to spend xp (or whatever) etc. as to build a player that would be valuable to a team.

If there are those out there that have need of a class no one is playing (i.e. medic or whatever), I’ll gladly jump on that to follow and start learning.

Play Station 3 here – PSN user is Timpanogos1

Thanks in advance.
