Broke the game|Resurrected a dragon with the console command

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 3:57 am

Guys, I think that i broke my game :(

Yesterday I got the great idea of resurrecting and Elder Dragon after killing him and absorbing his soul, he resurrected properly, kill him again but, he won't do the animation of transforming into bones nor giving me the Dragon Soul. I came that it was okey since he already give me one, so I continue playing the game.

After a few hours I encountered a Blood Dragon, and when I killed him, he also didn't give me the Dragon Soul.

How can I fix this? I tryed resurrecting and killing him with both commands but is the same result and Im worried that I damage something.

Please help!!!

If it's of any consolation, since updating to 1.4 I'm clearly no longer dragonborn since I'm unable to absorb dragon souls.

Any way you could roll back to a save before you did this?

That's probably the best option at the moment. It's always helpful to keep multiple saves and save frequently in case something happens.

Yep, I do the Quicksave and have auto save every 15 minutes. Damn, I have done so much in those 8 hours.

Shouldn't be using those two ways of saving. Turning them off is the best bet. Autosave can cause issues down the road. I do a manual save every 5 - 10 minutes, or however often I feel like doing it, and after 100 or so, I toss them in a 7z archive and start over.

You might also want to refrain from using console commands. They are meant for debugging purposes and can have serious consequences on your game state. If you must use them, it is best to keep "safe" saves that you can revert to after experimenting.

Save early. Save often. And don't overwrite your saves.

Well, it could be worse. 8 hours isn't too bad. :)

Ohh how true this is...just today i deleted 1 Gig of save files 100+ saves deleted (load screen was getting serious lag...lol) What i left myself is..

First save....4 mins 37 seconds

12 saves ranging in time and Size.. Then....

A set of latest saves, that if i lost a save would cost me dearly... 56 hours to 194 Hours ...to 221 hours. I overwrite a save for a while then move on.

I've never had any problem with the quicksave and autosave and from the beginning I set my game to autosave every five minutes. It saved my efforts more than one time.

Well, I just loaded that save, killed a dragon and he died properly. Shame that I lost that game play time but well, once you know the path, it take much more less, I believe that in a good hour and a half I will be in the same point.

Thanks anyway guys!

Okey, this is getting my nuts. Now a lot of NPCs will hold still in a position, wont move. If im near them they will interact with me, but they wont move. Not all the npcs do this, but most of them.

Go to an empty cell and wait for 30 in-game days.
