Brotherhood quest not advancing

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:12 am

Hello everyone,

I've worked my way through the initial chain of the Brotherhood quests and went the route of keeping the current head in place (sorry, can't remember their names off-hand). He congratulated me on my work, gave me the Brotherhood hide-out key, and increased my reputation. I went and spoke with the other guy (who was trying to replace him) and he started in w/ "thanks for the information, I'm going to start the proceedings to oust the current head".

Now both people just have a "thanks for your help, but I'm busy preparing for trial" dialogs with no further options. I've tried waiting for 4+ days (but probably less than a week) to see if it would advance the quest chain like it did for Ed-E and I also worked on a handful of side quests and main quest to see if I'd get any new Brotherhood options (I've already told Yes Man to leave the Brotherhood alone).

I did notice a Brotherhood patrol leaving the Hidden Valley bunker, which I thought was a positive development, but alas no new dialog options from either person. Is the quest chain stuck in a loop or am I just being impatient and should just wait some more?

Thanks,

If you did all of the old elder's quests then it is too late to help Hardin.
You have to tell Hardin about the Elder's first quest before you complete it, then show him the holo-tapes
when you return. Then help the computer guy fix the computers, and research about the Elders who have been
expelled then go see the security chief to get permission to dig deeper into the database.

I did all that. Like I said, I was congratulated by the current elder for being so loyal to the brotherhood and told the quest was completed (and given 1k experience). Now when I talk to him, he says he's preparing his defense. Hardin also thanks me for being loyal and he's preparing to oust the current Elder thanks to my information. That's it, no conversation options w/ either party.

I don't care which faction I help, I just want the power armor training!
