Brotherhood of Steel in New Vegas?

Post » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:54 am

Does anyone know if the Brotherhood of Steel (BoS) will be one of the factions in New Vegas? I know that the New California Republic (NCR), Caesar's Legion (CL), and Mr. House will be the 3 main factions, but I also heard that there will be numerous small, subfactions in the game. Any confirmation that the BoS will be one of these smaller factions?

If they are in the game, what do you think will be their role? Personally, I can envision the BoS having an outpost next to Hoover Dam where they are trying to keep it running smoothly, despite the NCR and CL fighting over it.

Yes, the Brotherhood is confirmed to be a small faction in the game. So small, that there is a chance you may never see them.

I propose we add blinking lights to the search button.... Yes, we'll see the BoS, but they're in hiding after taking a beating from the NCR. They won't have a very big role.

Yes it is confirmed, and has been for some time, that they are in with a very small role. They are in hiding so the player might not even encounter them. They have a companion available for you.

I imagine it will be something like their role in FO2, where you would see them around, but they really had absolutely no interest in speaking to you.

No mention of BOS missons?

If their are and you helped them out, maybe they'd prosper by spawning in the wasteland during random encounters with upgraded powerarmour and bigger guns.

I hope they are fleshed out decently for when you do find them. The only quest that is in any way related to them that we know about is the Black Mountain quest, because being able to take out a mountain filled with super mutants is impressive in their book.

Well, at the very least, we know that all companions have a personal quest line of an uncertain length. Since you can recruit Veronica, the BoS scribe, there's going to be at least 1 Brotherhood of Steel related quest (if only because Veronica is part of the BoS). Hopefully she'll also give some good insight to the current state of the Brotherhood due to the war with the NCR.

Interesting. I did not know that each companion would have a personal quest. This is definitely good news, and a major improvement over Fallout 3!

I really do hope they are small to the extent of 3 officers who got lost or something.
I'm getting sick of those goody two shoe [censored] :glare: (to be fair its beths fault they are the saints of fallout, so maybe things will be
different in NV)

The West coast BoS aren't "goody two shoes" like the East coast BoS. They're a very different faction...think somewhere in-between Lyons' group and the Outcasts. They're a little nicer than the Outcasts, but not anywhere close to as nice and good as Lyons and his crew. They're interested in collecting and cataloging technology, and they only get involved in local affairs if they need to. They're not do-gooders.

The Brotherhood of Steel will be in New Vegas. But they are just a really small faction since the war against NCR isn't going too well for them and the republic has basically drove them out of the area. The only ones that you can find are units that were left behind.

They went to war with the NCR, assuming the VB reasons still hold, they did so as they were concerned about the NCR's tech level getting too high for their own good.

Vegas wasnt hit by nukes, wich means more technology. So it would only make sense that the BoS is their.

And I prefer the West Coast BoS, I mean thats cool that the east wants to help out, but they just kind of get on my nerves after a while.

I have to disagree. If Vegas was hit by nukes and there was any technology around there would be a high chance of robot mutations and such.

The factions are:

Boomers
Brotherhood of Steel
Caesar's Legion
Chairmen
Crimson Caravan
Followers of the Apocalypse
Gun Runners
Jackals
Great Khans
Kings
New California Republic
New California Rangers
Omerta
Powder Gangers
State of Utolbitha
Nightkin
White Glove Society

They will be at the WESTERN EDGE of the map. They will be considerably close to Hoover Dam, since they also want to control it.

completely off-topic, but I'm looking forward to Fallout 4, if the NCR are the main Westcoast faction, and Lyon's BOS are the main Eastcoast faction, it's going to be a bit explosive when they meet in the middle....

not really, except 1) we all know the BOS are in New Vegas and 2) it occured to me as I was reading. Anyhow, I marked it as OT, you could have just ignored it.

Returning to the main topic, one of your possible companions is a Brotherhood of Steel scribe, so yes, they are very much in the game.
