Brotherhoof Steel Armor

Is it actually viable to run around wearing Brotherhood of Steel Armor? I know the NCR attack you on sight...but who else? Does it make the game too impossible?

Friendly... you must play Warcraft.. *snickers* As for the BoS armor.. I've yet to actually wear it. Mainly because I had such an NCR style. That doesn't mean you have to neglect Power armor though! Just use the Power Armor "D as in Dog" version. You may wish to boost a stat to offset the small stat loss though.

Spoiler
I did the quests for the Brother Hood of Steel and was rewarded with Paladin Status and Power Armour Training, so far nobody considers power armoure a disguise so nobody is hostile because you are wearing it, seems all the factions recognise you in full power armour.

The one that you get isnt, but if you go an get one of the stronger T-51 suits it is a disguise.

I had to wear Enclave PA to stop everybody shooting at me. Or you could always wear that crappy salvaged NCR PA that has a battery pack and doesn't need PA training. :P

There should be a suit of regular T-51b power armor on sale in the bos store that doesnt have faction markings and doesnt count as disguise. You can walk around in NCR bases if you have that equipped.

"Running around" in T-45 Armor is misleading. It slows you down too much. It's so much like being overburdened that it seems like walking around.

So as other PAs.

There is regular T-51b as well as T-45b, no "Brotherhood" but you can still see markings on them.....

Running around in Power Armor is stupid. I run in Reinforced Leather with Travel Light and have a hot-key to put my best armor on when a battle starts. Being slowed down by it means losing 2-3h of real time per every 10h of FNV.

There are two types of armor. One is BoS faction armor and one isnt. If the armor is all white/gray then its BoS. If it has a greenish tint on the torso then it isnt any faction armor. You can find some non-faction T51b Power Armor at the
