Ever since the 1.6 update, my Nord stormcloak has been randomly attacked by other stormcloaks and I don't know why. One example is when I approached Whiterun, all the outdoor guards named 'Stormcloak guard' began attacking me. Very immersion breaking because I had not attacked them and after I yielded to them, I had no bounty as I first suspected. They just gave me the standard "No lollygaggin'". I also wear the Stormcloak officer armor all the time for RP purposes so I don't understand why they could not recognize the Faction armor. This happened twice and both times when it happened I have noticed that I had freed a stormcloak prisoner from a group of imperials and killed the soldiers. Not sure if they are connected but maybe with 1.6 the faction registration got messed up or something and the NPC's confuse the identities. This just makes me mad to see stormcloaks I fought side by side with in the Civil War attack me for no reason!

Has anyone else experienced problems like these since 1.6 or before it?

I can confirm that this occurs every time I attack an Imperial squad and set the prisoner free. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but whenever I kill those 3 guard transporting the stormcloak prisoner, all Stormcloaks become hostile towards me. This has happened on 5 seperate occasions.

Well, Falion has been attacking me for no apparent reason. Now I'm stuck as a vampire for now!!!!!!!

Nor has it happened to me. But I have had some bugs that no one else has has before, so...

Maybe when you are freeing the prisoner you accidentally hit him? Although I doubt you accidentally hit him each time. Similar things have happened to me but only once, and not by a major faction such as the Stormcloaks. As far as I'm concerned besides RP values freeing a prisoner is close to worthless.

I was expecting to hear that your brother erased your level 81 account, but this is much more sketchy O_o. So glad I dont bother with imperial and stormcloak business

Vignar Greymane also seems to attack me because of this reason.

the only thing that has happened to me so far is when ever i'm at the collage of winterhold when i go to my skills menue it freezes on me for like 10 secs and i can't back out untill it unfreezes. and i've had a little bit of lag here and there mostly in the pale.

Well, he IS a stormcloak supporting Jarl so I would venture out to say that anybody that is associated with the stormcloaks will probably attack you.

That stormcloak prisoner that you freed is a witness to you killing the Imperials. That counts as a crime. This is a well known flaw in the game. It doesn't matter that you freed him, he saw and reported you.

This makes a lot of sense. Now that I think about it, I did free a prisoner once outside of whiterun and when I went in I was attacked. I just reloaded the game and took a different route. I figured it was a glitch until now, but apparently this is the cause to all of your problems!

Punch a guard in the face and pay your bounty.

I tried to get into the escape from cidna mine quest and I chose to go in quietly to give the good ol' king in rags a visit, and the guards were like lol no. Now I can't do the quest

I did the exact same thing you did but no one attacked me. Heck, for killing imperial soldiers my bounty got erased.

I once attacked a Thalmor patrol before they were hostile towards me, and then my Nord follower became hostile towards me. Traitor! Thalmor lover!

perhaps those imperials are undercover stormcloacks?

Well, if you yielded and it's all fine now, does it really matter? And faction armor has no effect on friendliness and hostility as it did in New Vegas.

They often don't accept my yield. That was just the one outside Whiterun.

is the new 1.6 patch installed automatically? i'm still in 1.5 but xbox connected to live nothing happens... anyway with all these glitches you guys experienced i wonder if i could stay 1.5 and get dlc.
For your problem man try to steal something or attack a guard and pay your bounty try it and feed back

I'll be sure to try next time I encounter this bug.
