.bsa question

I have a friend who's beta testing a mod of mine containing a .bsa and I've modified some scripts that were added to the bsa. When he subscribed to the mod, the .esp and .bsa were downloaded, but the script files weren't added to his script folder.

Were the scripts packed into the BSA? If so, then they would just still be in the BSA that he downloaded. It wouldn't extract them and place them in the scripts folder.
