After retaining the Pale and the Rift. I'm to speak to the Imperial about winterhold. The quest is active and the marker above her head. Nevertheless when I speak to her there's no dialogue available to ask about my next assignment.

Regain Winterhold Hold
Sometimes when you go to Legate Rikke, she will not give you the quest "Rescue From Fort Kastav". Go to the nearby cooking spit and activate it, this should trigger the "Reporting for Duty" dialog option to appear. worked for one user on the 360 and now I'm confirming it for myself. yes it works. But not for everyone.

So after the above tried and found to be boll@x and a reload and two hours of gameplay to get back to where I was the same happens again. 120 hours and then this. Pure game breaking....

Go and speak to General Tullius about your orders. This will (should) fix the triggers.

I ran into the same problem from the stormcloak end . Every single take over the fort mission I would not get the reporting for duty line until I sat there and listened to the whole blah blah blah about the war and whatever , then exited the conversation , walked out of the tent , turned around walked right back in and talked to him again . I had to listen to both dialogue options in their entirety for this to work .

Nope nothing worked. Guess that's the end of the civil war for this imperial...

This happened to me too. I went and did 2 or 3 other quest and came back and after initiating a coversation with the Legate for a second time, it showed up. I think it's what they call a radiant quest conflicting with another active radiant quest.

Tried the works my friend even the MQ. I even went back on a save and walked the distance I had to do to initiate it. I've given up on it now. I've etched every spare hour I can having two very young children into playing this. I even lent an Xbox to play the damn thing. The love is dying quickly
