1.6 bug

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:52 pm

So today I decided that I should take a little break from the finals and start up Skyrim.
It was the first time that I've playedwith the 1.6 patch, however when I was playing for 5 minutes on my horse, the game decided to just shut down.

Any of you have the same problem and if so, do you got a solution for it?

Thx in advance

1.6 is buggy. It feels like they released it in beta form, without fixing any of the bugs with it. The update has screwed up many mods, including the unofficial patch.

I can't wait to try 1.6, but it's only out for English territories. Maybe when it's out globally it will be fully fixed?

Of course the official patch is going to mess up mods and unofficial patches. Bethesda doesn't have to take any mods into consideration as mods are community made options and not required to play the base game. If Bethesda had to configure their patches to work with all the mods...well how often do you think any sort of patch or dlc would come out?

I didn't mention mods, therefore I do not understand why you quoted me? Anyway, I agree, mods are something that, if not done correctly, will never be compatible with official fixes and add-ons.

It's OK to mess up some mods due to changes in scripts...that enters in the realm of "normality", and can be solved by the modders by a quick update.

Which is NOT normal is that the modding scene of anything related to what the player can wear has been completely paralyzed due to a bug that makes that stuff invisible/unwearable. Or that Vanilla dialogues and races can't be edited anymore. That's far from normal.

It's not just that the game was updated, it's a bug that keeps the mods from working, and being able to be updated along with 1.6.

It wasn't long ago that 1.5 was released, and already 1.6 comes out with as many new bugs than it fixes. These things need more beta time before they're released.

Well, apparently 1.6 was rushed for Xbox for the Dawnguard beta, and then released as is for PC too. Many bugs found in the testing were unaddressed. So i'll skip it and wait for the next one ;)

Bethesda does patches like this occasionally, maybe they fear they'll run out of bugs and add some more of them :P

A lot of times, I can't loot the bodies of enemies I've killed in werewolf form. And sometimes they just completely dissapear when killed. Very annoying bug.

I'm playing on Xbox, and looks like the patch 1.6 for Xbox 360 seem to be doing fine. I have no issue playing since the release of this patch.
It's probably safe to update to 1.6 for Xbox 360 users.

I play on an xbox, updated to 1.6, and since have experienced more texture glitches than previous updates combined. Mostly things seem better like load times and less random crashes but I do get stuck in kill cam mode occasionally. All in all I'd say it runs with more annoying bugs and less game breaking bugs.

Well, it seems 1.6 broke all custom race and armor mods. Nice going Bethesda :goodjob:

Good thing i managed to save the 1.5 files before updating, so i can still keep playing it, but there's no way i'll update before that's been fixed. And since 1.6 is required for Dawnguard it means i won't be buying that either before that.

Positively, Dawnguard's PC release is atleast one and half months away, so if they are going to fix it, it'll happen before that.

The patch works fine now for me. Though I still end up getting kill cams with archery/magic even if I miss....

You're just lucky...and you either updated the USKP to the temporary interim version, or you haven't it. If it weren't so, you would have problems indeed.

That's how serious it is.

My game has started to crash/freeze up quite often on the Xbox again... *sigh*

Also out of nowhere Louis Letrush has started to appear at the Whiterun stables, even though i have never, ever, had this bug before on any of my save files... :yuck:

The first time I played with the patch and got on my horse my character stood up on the horse and kept taking out and puting up their bow. Then the game crashed.

Same thing a crimsonrider for me. You guys sure these bugs are not connected to hardware or something, because I run fine.

I play on xbox and encountered my first major bug today. I decided to start a new character and was about to get my head cut off when Alduin decided not to land on the tower, he just flew around endlessly, while the headsman looked down at me slightly embarrassed. :whistling:

I've heard of that from before 1.6.

Is it? I have both 1.6 and the unofficial patch on and I haven't encounter any new problems since I got the 1.6. What's the problem you have with them?
