While the problems with FNV are making the game damned near unplayable, to me it's nothing new or particular to New Vegas. I played through FO3 no problem but when I started adding in the DLC it became almost impossible to play, every second autosave would be corrupted, loads took forever and glitching was just off the charts. So when FNV started behaving in a similar fashion I thought it was just an exacerbation of a previously existing problem, but from the response it's like this is a new deal for a lot of people. So I don't get it… did people just shrug and ignore FO3s problems? Or were they limited to GotY buyers?
Might have been mostly GotY buyers or day 1 buyers. I didn't have any issues with Fallout 3 beyond a few freezings starting around hour 40 and ending around hour 60 for the most part. Mine was a used copy of the original release though.
It's also possible for many posters, this is their first experience with Fallout so they weren't aware of how buggy FO3 could be, just as Fallout 3 was my first game so fans of Fallout 1 and 2 were aware this series was buggy well before I was.
