Built up a large bounty while doing the Markath quest

QUEST SPOILER!! -Sorta I can't remember any of their names ;)

Just completed the Markath Betrayal quest or whatever it is called where you have to uncover the forsworn conspiracy after witnessing the murder when you first enter the town. Now I followed it to where you are meant to meet that guy and give him his info into what has been going on behind the scenes, and when the guards confronted me and tried to pin all the murders on me and were going to send me off to prison I took the option of 'I would rather die than go to prison' so off I went on Expert difficulty trying to kill the zillion guards that flood the temple, I succeeded after a few attempts, went outside and ran into more of them! I ended up just giving up after killing the 20th guard, sheathed my weapon and the guard offered prison this time I took it!

The problem is, now I have a 15000 bounty which was run up ALL by killing corrupt Markath guards, so I went to prison, followed the next break free quest and reappeared with the Forsworn clearing out the rest of the guards and the corrupt politician in Markath. My Bounty even after leaving the town and everyone leaving me alone after the jail-break is still 15k, however that guy in prison told me not to worry about it the truth would come out and I would be cleared!

Will Bounty Hunters continue to chase me? Or because the Bounty was run up during that particular quest line will it be ok? I don't have 15k atm to pay btw :(

Thanks, anyone else done it this way? Didn't want to really go back and try again from the start because I leveled up after killing all those guards!

Spoiler
You should had go to prison the first time(when the guards tried to imply the murder to you at the temple), is "part" of the quest :)

As for your real question... no idea :)

It's a bug. Unfortunately you will have to battle the guards everytime you enter Markarth. Some will say its annoying, but I look at it as a place where I can build up my light armor and attack skills. My bounty in Markarth is at 24000. Once you kill all the guards the bounty is "removed" because you killed all the witnessess.

Hmmm yes I figured that, but then it was alot of fun blasting them all with my shouts and freezing them... and then I leveled up too :) I guess I am prison-shy and the fact that I didn't do anything wrong except become a scape-goat after uncovering the conspiracy and corruption made me kinda angry :)

Hmmm :( So if I go back and sacrifice that priest to Dagoth in basemant of that house in Markath for the fancy mace; who I just found in the care of the 15 forsworn fools I blew off the mountain btw, they will attack me when I enter the town? ! Affff :( I thaught I killed all the guards but it never game me a message saying my Bounty had been removed! Guess I am going back to the where the guards first were going to drag me off to jail!

Bethesda should look at this bug, if it gives you option A: or option B: they should make sure the quest works BOTH ways and not just the way if you pike out and don't attack and get carted off to the Big House.

Btw where I found that priest is some of the most beautiful scenery I have seen in any game including other TES games, Gaining altitude with misty mountains on all sides and a shiny river running far below through the valley... amazing! Seriousy it reminds me of the Scottish Highlands!
