any one have a clue what that is supposed to do? there is an "activate ledger" option and nothing happens.. i alsop have barenziahs crown which also has a "activate" option and nothing happens..

Well, I think the ledger is a generic interactive object. It's the same at every location that's a part of Delvin's radiant quests, except those are used to update the quest progress. As for the crown, I seem to recall you activate that once during the TG questline to become guild master. There are other items in the world that you can "activate" with no apparent result. They just have to be associated with an active quest.
