I leveled my Archer to 40 as of yesterday, and an hour ago I finished my second run for an exodus across Skyrim as a Werewolf--this time on expert. Starting from the same place last time (Farm across the river from Windhelm), I decided to take a different route from my previous attempt and stuck to the south face of the mountain just south of Winterhold. Taking the path there was a much better move, as the area leading is mostly flat tundra with trees here and there. One pack of Ice Wolves didn't stand a chance. But when I was hugging the mountain, my first real threat appeared.
It was an Ice Troll. Pretty much ran into the fight balls out and ragdolled it. Then the mauling proceeded. Pretty easy work. A few more Wolf packs and I was just north of Ivarstead, and finally got onto a road. I took care of another wolf pack before I came across a Dunmer in fur armor. It hadn't detected me, so I kept a safe distance. I stalked him to Valthiem towers. Would have been fun to seem him go up against the bandits but I already cleared it out. I was about to make my move when a couple wolves jumped me and gave me away.
The guy started throwing Ice Spikes at me and seemed to have casted an Alteration Armor. They took a chunk out of my health, but I bumped up the power span with his flesh. I didn't come across any humans until just outside Whiterun. That was when the Guards attacked. Their fighters were very annoying, as they were blocking me from the Archers nipping at my health from a distance. First time I had actually come close to death. But with a little circling and ragdolling, they were done for. I followed the roads but kept a safe distance from the path in case of ambush and to regen.
I eventually came to the Guards stationed at the Whiterun Tower's remains. There were only five of them, and I had regenerated enough to kill them without much trouble. Eventually I came across a fort, which I tried to circle around but unable to avoid a Bandit stationed at the entrance. Our quick fight alerted the others, and tore my health down to a chunk before I finished him. And then, unfortunately, I came across a Mercenary in full Orcish (the kind that you find on roads, whom you can persuade to inform you of the dungeon they were hired to clear out), and she proved to be the death of me. *sigh*
