Bump, any high level Illusionist here? On another note, do Illusion spells work on dragon priests?

Yes with the proper perks. I used dual cast pacify on a dragon priest and it worked.
I've never tried a dragon.

Thanks! Hopefully soon someone has an answer to dragons, especially ancient/Aulduin on Masters difficulty.

I believe dragons are immune to all illusion spells, but as viinse said, it can be done on Dragon Priests (if you're a vampire).

No. Dragons, from the weakest subtype to the strongest, named or otherwise, are immune to calm, fear, frenzy and paralyze, regardless of caster skill level or perks.

Vampire illusion bonus is not required to affect dragon priest as long as you have all the relevant perks.

Bummer. I guess Conjuration and Destruction are better support skills for an assassin against dragons... thanks for confirming.

I don't mean Impact. I mean taking up the 7 Destruction (Augmented Fire/Frost/Shock) perks + 2 extra Enchanting perks (Fire/Frost/Shock Enchanter) to get legit Fire81/Shock81 or Frost81/Shock81, with Fortify Destruction potion that bumps it up to Fire212/Shock 212 and Frost212/Shock 212. Because even with the Smithing/Enchanting combo I can't one shot an ancient dragon on Master that's already in alert status. I can 2 shot it if I get the *3 backstab bonus, and I've only managed to do so on the sleeping ancient dragon at Shearspoint.

Conjuration is self-explainatory. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

I think one-shot ancient on master can be done only if with
1. maxed bow/arrow
2. 130% fortify marksman potion
3. x3 critical sneak
Not sure if the Critical Shot perk needs to trigger also.

Without any of the above condition I don't think it can be done at all, using a bow. I'm not sure adding "a bit" of elemental damage would help much seeing as your bow is already 1600+ damage and the elemental damage does not get boosted by the x3 sneak critical.

Being a vampire is not necessary.

I've tried it even with weakness to magic 65% + weakness to opposing element 97% + marksman potion 130% + fortify destruction 162% and no go. They do add up the damage pretty neatly though. It requires 4~5 direct arrows to kill Auldin on Masters, without SA multipliers. With this setup, 2 SAs from bow, it is possible to 2 shot an ancient. Both arrows must have *3 critical multipliers though - and that's tricky cause the first shot will alert the dragon.

I wonder if a max Marked For Death > Shadow Warrior > SA arrow works?

SA * 30 mutlplier with elven daggers (100+ base damage) using standard power attacks (no perk) works.

side note: Funny enough, you can still stunlock them by simply slamming a shield in their face. Given they′re grounded though

I believe dragons are completely immune to any and all calm, fear, frenzy, or paralyze effects regardless of powers or perks.

I jumped on a dragon once just to see if i could. I used that one that tells you that one thing that those one people keep hidden because those other people want to kill him yeah that one... Anyways he sits next to word wall and so I climbed on his back and then I wondered.... What if I pissed him off while I was up here? So I shot him with a few arrows he took off and I fell flat on the ground. Not very interesting at all.
