Can Anyone Offer Tips or Help for "Be More Objective&#34

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:28 pm

Bulpdaun SMGs and Speed Slings are things lots of people talk about using. I would like to have access to them, but so far I have repeatedly failed to beat the two-star Be More Objective challenge. It surprises me since I'm not at all bad at Brink. Could anyone offer some advice on how to overcome the level, or add me (I own a PS3, PSN: Mylo_Cordana) to help me online with it sometime?

I have tried playing both solo and online, with different weapon loadouts and body types. It isn't that I can't wipe out those mediocre A.I. bots, it's that they seem to respawn too quickly and too close to the objective. Once I wipe out the group of six or eight or however many baddies there are, there is no time to complete the objective before they roll back in. I either find cover and kill them as they respawn until I run out of ammo, or I try to run in and complete the objective to get gunned down by instant-reappearing bots while doing so. My four fumbling A.I. allies seem to do nothing but dance a jig in front of the enemy's firing line.

Play a low level character to get it. Also if you ignore the bots as much as possible, they tend to ignore you too. You have to do it solo to get the unlocks and such. It's actually surprising the few times that the bots just don't pay any attention to you and let you work in the background.

For getting around, use the higher levels of the walkways as much as possible. Stay high and drop down if you can. There's decent cover and few bots up there. Take off as fast as you can for that first bomb, and plant plant plant. Then hide behind it and only pop out to kill the engineer.

theres been a few topics about this already so i'll just tell you , the bots difficulty is determined by what level your character is at.....so if your sick of pulling your hair out and you want to do it the easy way, make a new character and play through them that way, its easy.

I have beat the objective in online mode, playing with others, four times but didn't get credit about it.I was wondering if it unlocks only in solo mode, someone can clarify this?
But other than that i don't use either of these, not Bulpdaun and no speed sling,i think it's again a personal preference, how's your playstyle thing.

There are some YouTube vids that help in guiding as to what to do but still when you learn the game is pretty clear that you need to be fast and use everything your class gives you (turrets/mines/granade launchers etc.)

Again, you must do it solo to get the unlocks

Try different body types - even if you normally play as a particular one, you may find that challenge easier with different tactics from your usual. Normally I'm best as a Light, but I couldn't finish the 2 star without going Heavy (big guns help a lot)

Also worthwhile is knowing that AI levels with you, they get smarter and gain extra abilities. Doing a challenge where the AI enemies outnumber your team is much easier at lower levels - create a new character to win the challenge - unlock carry through to all your characters.

Thank you to everyone who answered. I was not aware that the difficulty scaled up with your rank. It's not surprising my level 20 had trouble with the challenge. I started a new character and beat it on the first try.

I'm now rolling a Balpdaun with a Yeotech scope, Front Grip, and a High-Cap mag. It appears to be the best Machine gun there is, superior to both the Carb and the Kross. My Sea Eagle Pistol has recieved the Speed Sling, and seems to spontaneously appear in my hand when I run out of ammo for my primary. Fantastic.

Buy a gun.
Hold up the devs.
Make them redesign the map so that the enemy spawn isnt right in front of the first objective.

Create a new character and do those challenges first, then do Tower Defense if you haven't already. If you are over a certain level, like level, like 10 or 12,you might as well not even try it unless you are a glutton for punishment.

The only objective I struggle with personally is the hacking objective. The way I go about it is to just sprint to the location, plant the hackbox (even if you're taking fire, if you die just keep trying) and then run around the corner to the Command Post cage. You can keep hacking from there with full bars, and hopefully your AI buddies will manage to hold the Engineer at bay. If not, rinse & repeat.

I've broken my screen because of being so mad at this challenge ....
I can just about do the engineer objective, but even with constant spraying with both my smgs .. I cannot kill the enemy fast enough before all the medics re spawn and heal them all.

And there's a bug where after you plant your hack box, you don't pull out your PDA.
-I thought you were meant to be able to link up to the box remotely anyway (i.e. press F through a wall??)
but this does not appear to be the case.

Also, team mate bots are awful.
Also, enemy bots know things they shouldn't.
Also, enemy bots head shot you LOADS.

^^ This x1000. I almost put my face through my screen trying to complete challenges on my lv15. Created a new character and completed all challenges straight away.

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone else feel like the 3-star challenges are rendered almost completely pointless by this AI scaling thing? Kind of undermines the leaderboards when some people are completing the challenges at a much lower difficulty than others.
