Can I change my hair, beard,... in the middle of the game? I am bold now. Would like some hair.

Unfortunately I haven't found a means to doing this..

I wish you could change your Name as well.

On PC the only method known is the console command "ShowRaceMenu" but it will mess up you skills a little (nothing dramatic though) so proceed with excessive caution.
As for console users: no dice.

How does it mess with your skills? I've done this many, many times and I haven't noticed it.

In oblivion there was a way to go to the race menu, make changes and not have all stats reset. How you guys doin this in skyrim?

Just go to the console and type showracemenu and you can change your appearance from there. If you change your race, then your settings will reset. Everything after the race menu is ok and will not effect your character. At least that's what I've found.

Same here. Used "showracemenu" several times to change six bacl and forth (because of the arrow bug), hair, warpaint, skin colour. No problems. However I never changed race, I'm a Breton forever.

Showracemenu causes the skin color and other face tones to be reset. Unless you plan to change race, it doesn't affect the stats. Some sliders are also bugged showing a position which is different from the one truly used.

I wish there could be an easier way to alter hair without going through the showracemenu console command.

No, you cannot change your appearance through normal means. Console commands, yes.
Speaking of appearances, does anyone know steps on how to make a hybrid race such as and Altmer-Nord?
