Can children cast spells?

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:44 am

I am making a follower that looks like a ghostly head of a little girl (its really cool looking if you want screenshots) but the problem is she just won't cast a spell. She fights, but just by running up and hitting you with her ghostly little hands. Does anyone know how to make a non-mage start using magic?

Her combat style is csHumanMagic and yes, she has multiple spells I made in her inventory as well as fireball.
Also she does have a pretty significant amount of mana.

It doesn't seem to have to do with her being a child. After inducing my evolution script (which swaps her out for an advlt ghost) she still fights with her fists.

The problem seems to be the spells I made. I must have done something wrong, since she casts Flames perfectly fine.

if your spells use scripts, and if any of those scripts use Game.GetPlayer(), it wont work

you need the script to reference a non-specific actor

Thanks, I didn't know that and it does explain one spell. However, another one I made is just an edited charus spit that takes away stamina instead of health. She still won't use it. I've had this problem before, where characters just won't use the spells I give them. I dunno.

Lol, I actually did that by accident. When I made her from a breton child I made a new race for her so that she could be an animal companion (and edit her stats etc.) but I forgot to make a new skin for her. Since her face is pre-gen, it stays, but without a skin her body doesn't render. Add the shader effect from AbGhost (a spell you give characters to make them seem ghostly) and whamo, headless freaky child thing.

I personally think she's adorable though. :)
