I can't get into the strip ... : Fallout: New Vegas

Basically I accepted the quest from the ambassador for the NCR in the strip, I left and did the quest, on the way back to see him my game seems to freeze every single time I enter the strip by lucky 38.

It was fine until the patch was sent out ... does this mean ill have to wait for a new patch or adjust settings or restart? ... for the 2nd time?

I have absolutly the same problem, though in my case it was an ambassador from caesars legion. My game freezes or refuses to load the game entirely when i try to enter the strip.

Delete your game data utility (NOT SAVE FILE) then try re-downloading the patch.

Edit: tried, still blacks out and freezes my PS3 when i enter the Strip.

Same problem here.....I've done all the side quests outside of the strip and now this game is worthless....

Actually I was mistaken....the only outside one I had left was to explore the Nightstalker caves.....and the most unusual thing happened....the game froze up and locked up my PS3. Good Lord

Try wearing the Old Cowboy hat or McCaffery's Hat when you enter.

I'm not having a problem with loading or freezing, but I am locked out of the strip. It says I need a key to enter. I was in the process of moving all of my stuff to my new house and now it won't let me in. What is Mr. House robbing me? The only thing I can think that I did that may cause a problem was I brought Ed-E with me for the first time to the Strip. Does the strip not like Ed-E(Enclave)? I really don't feel like loading up a save from earlier today unless I know what I did to cause this issue. Can anyone explain why this is happening or has happened?

If it's freezing when you enter the strip wear the Old Cowboy Hat or McCaffery's Hat when you enter.

I am having the same problem but I don't have the companion that you have. Someone else mentioned it happening after you accept the NCR embassy mission. I did that so I wonder if that is the problem. I don't remember dropping any keys. I'll try wearing the old cowboy hat trick and see if that works.

EDIT: the sherrifs hat works too - but it froze when I tried to exit lucky 38

What i did was kill the robot with a stealth boy some mines and a silenced pistol and i got the key from the robot

For Bethseda - I also have same/simular problem. Cannot enter the strip from gate (freezes black), and cannot enter via train because whenever I go through the gate by the Tops to the area with the Lucky 38/Gomorrah it freezes. Basically there must be a glitch with the Lucky 38/Gomorrah area loading correct or at all. I have hope that a Patch will come out because without a fix, I (and seemingly many others) will not be able to complete the game. In short - Without a fix the game is worthless and a waste of money. I am patient and not down on Bethseda, but they do need to fix this problem or have a recall on the game.

I'm going to start a new Legion-centric game in the mean time, but I hope that this is fixed soon.

I think I've completed almost all of the side quests already and now I'm just waiting till I can get in the Strip,... have the same issue with the black screen and music.. must try wearing the cowboy hat tho, as deleting and reinstalling game data/patch didn't work.. even previous save games will crash the moment I exit the tops casino (after getting ambushed by Benny again) and head into the part where the lucky 38 and Gomorrah is.. I found it's ok if I kept 'looking' at the lucky 38,.. but the moment I look across to the Gomorrah,.. crash..

I am in the same boat. I couldn't zone into the north gate without the black screen of death. But I was able to take the train to the strip. BUT now I am unable to leave Lucky 38 without the BSOD. I have the Old Sheriff's hat, but that does not seem to work.

Please fix this soon or REFUND my money.
