Can we get a perk for Werewolves that....

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:58 am

Allows it to be used whenever we want similar to the Vampire lord? I do really like what I've seen of the new perk trees but I've heard no word on my number one grievance with werewolves, which is the time limit.

I know that Hircines ring sort of fixes this problem, but I find it tedious to have to re equip it and use it all the time and would prefer that beast form gets the vampires lords treatment.

I personally would love beast form to become an alternate and new play style for this game, as it is now the time limit simply makes it a rage mode cooldown.

When it comes to the duration, bonuses, and perks rather than a fight between them then yeah, the vampire lord is definitely better. However, copying the vamp lords by giving werewolves infinite transformations and durations pretty much renders the ring of hircine as a useless trophy and destroys most of the aspect of feeding.

Instead, I think Bethesda should take a soul gem-like approach when it comes to feeding and the duration of werewolves.
So by feeding off of:

Petty souled creatures (rabbits, Goats, rabbits) : Heal 25 points add 30 seconds
Lesser souled creatures (troll) : Heal 75 points of health add 1 minute
Common souled creatures (Bears) : Heal 100 points add 2 minutes
Greater souled creatures (Charus reaper) : Heal 150 points add 3 minutes
Grand souled creatures (mammoths) : Completely Heal player add 4 minutes

I think this would be allot more fair to werewolves while not completely changing how they tick.

That is the difference between Were and Vamp gameplay. Weres are (or should ) be more physically robust and thus their use is limited. Vamp bonuses are pronounced but more subtle (or they should be ) but are constant along with their drawbacks, the sun specifically. You can say it's a balance thing. Speaking from the lore, Werebeast transformations are naturally limited. As to why, I imagine that they are physically demanding, citing the need to kill and feast afterward. Doing it more than once per day and the full moons could be detrimental to their health. Or Hircine just wants it that way for a reason. I think that the current time of the transformation should be greatly extended along with involuntary lunar transformations.

I want this as well. I'd really like for it to be tied to the moon. But I know that's not going to happen. But either way one of the perks should definitely be extended time to start with. We should not be required to feed to stay in werewolf form.

In my opinion, I think that the werewoives and the vampiric lords are pretty balanced since magic users don't have the same one shot kill ability as a melee user. To me I find the inconvenience of re-equiping the Hircine Ring better than a permanent weakness in the sun and being hated, at least with my melee character. I started a mage character so that I could try being a vampiric lord seeing as they get a plus 50 to magica along with the other two stats when transformed. I always wanted to be a vampire but the negatives outweighed the positive to me but now that they have their own beast form and their own faction quest it's a lot more apealing and maybe they'll have it that even if your a vampire in the highest stage they won't let you use their services like buy thing but at least to not attack you. I can hope.

I believe its is confirmed, that after the dlc (maybe after a future patch even), the only vampiric state where people will be hostile, is as the vampire lord. Stage 4 only kinda "push" the amway, so they wont communicate with you, but they will NOT attack you

Lobsterheg I figure they gleaned it from gameplay vids, not sure if an official source has been released. I remember there being a perk tree on the UESP wiki, though I don't remember many of the details being filled in completely.

E3 videos on youtube. I think there's few video links floating around in all the dawnguard threads here.
