Title says it all. Currently working through the tutorials. I moved the corner. I hit Ctrl + K. I selected a piece of the already orientated pieces. Hit Shift + Q. Click Piece Selected. Go back to corner piece. Try to replace. Still on Global Snap reference...

Help? Please?

In your preferences try changing the 'snap to' grid value to a smaller number eg: 8,16 or 32. Im not sure if thats what you need to make it work but i was having problems with my walls not snapping to each other and changing the 'snap to' value fixed it. Mind you I was working at right angles but maybe it'll help you place yours where you want it.

I found using the Gizmo to control the item only works in global snap reference. If you use the method without the gizmo it works.

I had the same exact problem. I ended up just having to eyeball it. The shift Q thing wouldn't line it up to how it used to be.

Were you using the gizmo to move and rotate?

no, just right mouse button.

Shift + Q only matches the grid, not the angle. You still need to rotate by eye.

It did both grid and angle for me.
